    Away from the madding crowd

We stayed here last year, and wanted to spend a little more time so that we could enjoy dinner there. We were not disappointed - the restaurant is very good indeed. The room we had (we booked very late) was small but well appointed. Larger rooms and suites are available, so next time we will be a little more organised. The hotel has a convivial restaurant, two outside terraces and a large garden with a play area for kids. Most importantly all the staff - I'm including the owner managers - are friendly and efficient. I doubt much would be too much trouble for them. It's quiet with plenty of off street parking. It ticks all the boxes be you travelling on business, for a couples weekend or as I family. Simon and I would heartily recommend it and hope to return soon.

A 3 Star Hotel with 5 Star rooms and 5 Star Service !

I stayed at the Klokkenhof for a total of 4 weeks in one of the recently remodeled rooms. If you are looking for an upscale Hotel and Restaurant outside the City of Antwerp, dont look any further. The owners, Lisbeth and Peter truly understand the meaning of customer service. Their friendly staff was extremely accommodating. A generous breakfast was served punktually at 7am every day. The rooms were immaculately cleaned daily. The restaurant with the cozy indoor and outdoor seating was the highlight of each day. I tried all the items on the menu. You cant go wrong here. Oh, dont forget the chocolate sauce on your ice cream for desert. It is outstanding. I booked my reservation for next year !

    Perfecte one night stand!

We stayed here for one night on our way to France. It appeared to be the perfect choice. Very honest and warm welcome by the owners. A delicious dinner on the heated terrace. Very comfy bed in well appointed room. And to finish it off an ample breakfast. Loved it and will be back!

    A lovely surprise

I was not expecting the level of comfort in the room. A large suite with robes, Nespresso machine and lovely furnishings (suite 12). It also has a very comfortable bed. The best part of the hotel is the restaurant- excellent service and outstanding food. I stayed for three nights and was not planning to stay in every evening but the surroundings and food were so good I stayed on site.

Messy / smelly / noisy hotel: avoid it !!

We were in the hotel for 5 nights with our crew. We are organizing a virtual conference nearby. We had 10 rooms. Most of us will not be using our rooms for the last night, most of us decide to go home because of the awful hotel.... 1) There are no double beds. It is just two single beds moved next to each other. With a huge gap in between the two beds. So basically you are lying in one small tiny bed. 2) The beds are old and cheap. No comfort what so ever. We all woke up every morning with pain in the back. 3) The hotel really stinks. There is a smell of frying grease all over. It even is in the rooms. It basically is the kitchen smell that is all over the place.... And we guess they do a lot of frying stuff 4) The hotel has a restaurant that is being visited by local people, we guess. Nothing wrong with that in principle but they make a lot of noise. So a lot of parties were going on (right before the lockdown) it kept us out of our sleep 5) When we tried to discuss the above, we were told not to nag.... 6) Some rooms are nearby the kitchen. So forget a good night rest... 7) At 5:00 PM in the night, some machines start to work - we do not know which ones... But these awaken you in the middle of the night 8) You hear traffic in your room all the time. It is not peaceful at all.. 9) When we tried to arrange our room block, they never answered the phone or even answered mails 10) In some rooms furniture was moved day per day. Meaning one day you had like a "double" bed... (two beds next to other) and the other day the two beds were in different place in the room 11) We got deliveries in rooms that were not meant for us.... So they are totally screwing up not knowing which guest is staying in which room?.. Honestly, we think this is a restaurant place and not a hotel. And according to the grease smell not even a good one. We have another job in December but unanimously decided we rather stay in a camper than ever visit this place again. What a nightmare !
