    Ancient but decent

Situated in Giza convenient to visit the Pyramids and Sphinx. This Hotel was had a grandeur but now is a slight let down. The breakfast is good. Quality of service depends on the size of tips, though this is true for entire Egypt. Be careful there is one entire floor in the dumps - the 2nd floor if I am not mistaken - land on this floor and all you will see is rubbish and trash...

The exteriors of the hotel impress, horror inside!!

This hotel advertises itself by saying it's very close to the Giza pyramids. It is at least 4-5 kms from the site and that too at the turn of a main road of Cairo, which makes the entire area very dusty and dirty. With public transport a perennial issue in Egypt for short distances, you need to rely on taxis which again are in a bad state. Inside the hotel- the rooms look really antiquated, curtains not washed for ages, furniture is creaky, many switces inside the room did not work. In a way, we were glad that we were out the whole day and just came back for a sleep, which again can't be peaceful with the main road noise troubling you. The exteriors of the hotel conceal what is inside well. The price was a steal, we paid INR 1,900 (about USD 40 per night). However the place is not worth probably even that. The loddy looks big, but the maintenance is pathetic and service is indifferent. Buffet breakfast does not offer choice. I know, I know one'd would say what do you expect for USD 40, but then I'd say you don't pay for basic cleanliness and power-plugs working in a room! Overall- abelow par place- go there only if you don't have hotels left in Cairo and you must visit the city and can't find anything.

Shabby, not maintained, avoid if you can

will not suggest even my enemies to spend a single night there. Went there with family and I was cursed by everyone in the group. this was booked through a package and didn't spend enough time finding out about the details. anyways, the hotel is situated approx 45mins odd journey from the airport in Giza, although some rooms have pyramid view but it doesn't compensate for the lack of cleanliness, hygiene in the hotel. for breakfast at some point it appeared we are the only guests in 7 odd storied building. avoid if you can

This doesnt deserve to be listed as a 4 star hotel

The hotel is very beautiful to look at from outside, but is rather poorly maintained. The rooms and room service was decent but overall there is just something very shabby about the interiors. I went there when I was pretty young, and we kids discovered literally a spooky floor that had old bed mattresses and furniture lying around a totally dark aisle. So in case someone is interested in that kind of thrill, they should not miss it. The food is okay but the restaurant doesn't seem to specialize in multiple cousins.

    The Best View Ever

I spent six nights in this Hotel and had a room that faced the pyramids. I was always awed with the view of the pyramids. The view was spectacular and compensated for whatever shortcomings. The restaurants were open 24 hours and the food was excellent. The location of the hotel is second to none. Every night I noticed there was one or two wedding parties and sometimes I joined in. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The cab drivers parked outside were very knowledgeable. They took me to the pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, and other places. The key is to get a room that faces the pyramids.
