  Hermoso entorno

  La ubicación del hotel es muy buena. Si bien está a dos millas del centro de Cheltenham, se puede acceder al mismo fácilmente. Las instalaciones de hotel son completas, las habitaciones y el baño cómodos. Nosotros fuimos en junio y llovía y estaba bastante frio, un poco inusual para la época, pero tardaron bastante en encender la calefección. Por otro lado, como el hotel es muy grande, teníamos que caminar bastante para llegar a la habitación. El hotel tiene un spa muy completo, con una piscina en la que se puede practicar natación. También hay sauna y baño de vapor. El personal del hotel muy agradable y dispuesto a ayudar.

  Comfortable and Friendly

  This was our second visit and we were made to feel very comfortable. The building is old and full of character, but our bedroom had been freshly modernised and attractively redecorated. Breakfast was great, with high quality ingredients and a good selection of hot and cold buffets. Parking is easy and plentiful. You need a car here as you are outside town, but the building is well set back and sheltered from the main road so the bedrooms are very quiet, and it is a convenient short drive into town. We have stayed at several other branded hotels in Cheltenham and the DoubleTree is definitely our first choice. During the pandemic, the main restaurant is only open for breakfast, but the bar has a small dining room offering a limited menu with good food options. We would recommend this over The Clock Tower Restaurant next door, which is not part of the hotel but shares the same parking lot. We found The Clock Tower food and service standards disappointing.

  Weekend Break-Great Location

  This hotel was in a great location for our trip to visit the Cotswolds with only a 10 minute drive into Cheltenham also. There was a family pub/restaurant attached (Clock Tower) which had good offers on and a range of pub classic meals. Breakfast at the hotel was very nice, guests were asked to wear facemasks into the dining room, the tables were spaced out but it sometimes felt a little too crowded if alot of guests went for breakfast at the same time but everyone seemed aware of social distancing and safety. There was a good selection of hot and cold buffet with items being re-filled when necessary. The staff in the area were helpful and friendly and seemed busy keeping on top of everything. There was a separate area to the side for those with dogs. Check-in was safe and easy and we were greeted with the offer of a free cookie. The corridors were set up as a one-way system which felt good and reassuring. Our room was on the ground floor and was quiet with a nice view of the garden area. The bedroom was a good size with all the usual amenities. The bathroom was a little on the small side but was manageable and clean. There was a fan on the wall which was needed and you could still request for the room to be cleaned daily (&towels changed)if required. We booked a Deluxe King Room which was supposed to come with complimentary bottled water, robes and slippers but we had to go back to reception to ask for these as they hadn't been supplied but this was quickly resolved. Also we hadn't been told that a £50 deposit was to be taken per night (3 nights) for use of the bar, although we did use the bar we had paid for the drinks separately and didn't spend anywhere near £50, this took until a few days after our trip to be refunded although was sorted with sincere apologies. The bar was an ok size with additional outside seating which should be lovely in summer, we couldn't work out whether it was table service or if you had to go to the bar and were also slightly confused by the different prices charged for the same drinks, there wasn't much atmosphere and maybe could of done with some background music. There was a limited bar menu available. It was easy and effective to book a 1 hour slot for the swimming pool and for use of the gym. The gym had a good range of equipment which was well looked after and there were plenty of cleaning/sanitising stations in there. The pool was a good size with limits to how many could use the jacuzzi and for how long. The sauna and steamroom were currently out of use. There was a separate lane for swimmers, the showers weren't in use at this time either. Although someone did clean the changing rooms between sessions I feel the floor needed to be focused on more as it wasn't very nice to walk on/stand on in the changing rooms area. Parking felt secure and there were ample spaces. The look and feel of the place was nice, I do like a Doubletree and am always pleased with my stay. I would recommend staying here due to its location and accessibility to different parts of the Cotswolds.

  Excellent service and stay

  Spotless, spacious, quiet and well equipped room and great service - an error of entirely my own making was very quickly resolved during an efficient check in process. Would definitely stay again and highly recommended

  Good weekend away

  Nice weekend away at this hotel - free parking on arrival which is a great benefit. Receptionist was smiley & happy on arrival, checked to see if our room was ready at 11am, which it wasn't but wasn't an issue as we were heading out anyway. Room was nice and spacious - we went for a king room, with more floor space. I would say they need to upgrade their TV's (just an observation) we only put it on for a little bit in the morning, but for the size of the room, was really small & old. Bathroom good size, would say its had a mini upgrade (431) nice white tiles in and around the bath, but old fashioned ones around the toilet. I wanted a bath, but there was no water from the tap, so had to fill it using the shower head, again not a major issue but worth mentioning. It filled up reasonably quickly and was hot so not a complaint. The room only had sparkling no still water, maybe just an error and when asked at reception they sent some up. Gym was great - nice and big, clean and lots of good equipment. There was 3 of us in there when i went in ( i booked online prior to arriving). After being in there an hour, i was on my own by this point, and the receptionist from gym came and told me my time was up. Should the gym have been busy, i would have understood this, but as i was alone, i thought it was a bit over the top to come and disturb me. Totally get these new Covid rules, but when i was alone it seemed over the top. Breakfast was well spaced out - hot food you went up and someone plated what you wanted. However the rest you helped yourself to, which again i found odd, as that meant we were all touching the coffee/tea pots, the continental items etc. Just funny how all hotels are so different. Maybe its a staffing issue, so they cant serve you to your tables? However food was nice and plentiful. Didnt use bar or go for dinner so cant comment on these spaces. Location was excellent - left our car parked for free and used the bus stop to town, and for a day pass was £4 each. Bargain and took around 8 minutes. A few niggles, and i mean niggles, literally nothing i would complain about, just a few things worth mentioning. Would definitely recommend.
