  One of my most disappointing stays ever!

  We had our Do Not Disturb sign on our door until 9:15 a.m. and took it off when we went to breakfast. The maid was in the room next to us and saw me take the sign off the door and our room never got done all day. We called early in the afternoon to complain and were told that they prioritize rooms that were vacated first and that ours would be done at some point, never happened.... Had to call for fresh towels and toiletries. Next day only the bathroom got cleaned. The breakfast area was completely over run by about 20-30 young boys, half of them were just in wet swim suits! No parental supervision at all! My daughter waited 20 minutes for the waffle maker and we had to ask for more eggs, sausage and coffee. These same unsupervised group of boys took over the pool and outdoor areas with foul mouthed talk and aggressive play! Not an enjoyable weekend!

  Great option! Large rooms, friendly staff,

  My room was large and included a separate section set up like a living room. The bathroom was also nice - also large, clean and plenty of counter space for my toiletries, which is a big plus! The breakfast selection is decent - good amount of options, everything is fresh, above par with a hotel in this class,

  Great hotel and friendly staff--Great Breakfast, too.

  Very nice hotel. We were greeted by Joy who checked us in promptly and asked us what brought us to Akron. We were going to a concert at the Goodyear Theater at night. Bella checked us out on Sunday and was very personable and friendly. Breakfast was very good. Hot oatmeal in a crockpot, scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit (watermelon, pineapple, honeydew), and flavored waffle mix (cinnamon and vanilla--2 kinds). Breakfast area was clean and big--not crowded. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area.

  One thing after another...

  From check-in to check-out, we had issues with this property. Overall, there was a lack of staffing AND a lack of well trained staff. There were many little issues that all added up to a disappointing stay overall. Day 1-At check-in, there was a problem with our "free suite updgrade". We are lifetime titanium Marriott patrons and this has never been a problem. We asked for a manager and got that settled. We went up to our 4th floor room and discovered that neither key worked so back to the front desk. Our ironing board wouldn't open so we called the front desk to ask for a replacement. We requested an exchange while we were out that evening but the issue wasn't addressed. We called the front desk the next morning and housekeeping took care of it. Day 2-Housekeeping never came to our room to clean. In fact, we did not see any housekeeping staff on our floor while we were at this property. Late Saturday afternoon there was a group of men partying next door to us, pregaming for Saturday night I imagine. Before going out to dinner, we asked for a room change knowing that the noise would only get worse after the bars closed. The woman at the front desk said "Oh. You must be next door to the rugby boys." She said she would make a room change and we could take care of the transaction when we returned after dinner. When we returned, there was a new person at the front desk and the switch had never been made. She kindly took care of the transaction but our new room keys did not work (again) so back to the front desk. Our king suite looked new with updated furnishings but the heater rattled and buzzed so we turned it off. The location is terrific but that's about it. We have stayed at the Marriott Courtyard next door and will return there next time we are in Akron. 2 stars for location, room quality and polite staff.

  Friendly Staff

  1st time at Fairfield Akron Fairlawn. Friendly check in - Thank you Laura. Had to wait since the Staff have multiple duties, especially at night. Be patience during these challenging times. Room & Bathroom was clean. Did not hear from the freeway. Breakfast is to go (Yogurt, cereal, coffee). Thank you Joy for your professional and flexibility. Much appreciate. Would return.
