  Lovely

  We booked as part of a golf trip and were not disappointed. The hotel is friendly and welcoming the staff are a pleasure to talk to . The food is as good as anywhere at all the breakfast was to die for especially . The golf course had seen alot of rain in recent weeks and suffered due to it. The green especially were not in perfect condition however the course is very challenging and difficult . It has been a pleasure to stay there and would recommend to anyone at all

  Golf trip

  What a great stay ,for the time of year great to be able to use buggies on a testing course .The food was lovely and staff very friendly,we stayed for two nights and played three rounds of golf ,with bed and breakfast what great value for money . Only one problem if you stay you must request a room upstairs because due to the flooring the noise downstairs was awful creating a major problem for sleeping.All in all though a great place for societies.

  Great place, great venue.

  This place provides excellent value for money and great service. As a group we have been frequenting Farthingstone for 5 years. Never have had any issues. Deal is fantastic!!!! See you next year guys!

  Golf day.

  Excellent value for money, golf course in good condition and very safe environment. Hotel shut unfortunately due to current climate. Christian and his team made us feel very welcome and had a well stocked clubhouse. Will be going back.

  Possibly one of the poorest golf courses Ive played.

  I had high hopes for playing golf at Farthingstone especially at £25 a round, however what I found was a utter disappointment. Starts of with the drive up, the driveway is cracked and broken so much so there are sharp edges sticking out, which could potentially do some damage to an unsuspecting driver. I was then greeted with a very dreary looking building, after eventually finding the entrance (signs are limited) we (playing with 2 other friends) checked in at the pro shop, this was the best part of the day, the guy on the desk was very friendly and gave us some info on the course. Unfortunately with the weather one of the holes was closed however no concession was offered for this. I also found it incredibly annoying that while we checked in early and we were told we could tee off whenever, when we went to practice we were told that we needed to tee off straightaway as there were people behind, even though it was 20 mins before our tee time. The course itself is incredibly narrow, youre usually in range of getting an errant golf ball heading your way and judging by others etticate their werent many shouts of fore (not the clubs fault) just poor lay out. The greens are (to be blunt) awful, with lots of moss on them combined with uneven speeds and poor drainage. Speaking of drainage, the whole course doesnt handle it well with all the fairways completely sodden, almost unplayable. However the two most frustrating thing about the course is the lack of signs to guide to the next tees (although a map is on the paper thin scorecard) and even worse is the lack of defined pathways, we had to trudge our trolleys through the mud (a lot of them uphill) to where the presumed next tee was. This cumulated with one of my friends slipping on a hill and injuring his hip and back. All in all, one of the poorest conditioned courses Ive played which is a shame and at £25 pounds, it is expensive for what you get.
