Please read all, specially for BIPOC

Coming from Massachusetts and driving a cross country was a culture shock of itself, and during COVID it has been even more anxiety-provoking. However, in no one of the places I stated during this road trip did I feel most discriminated against. The front desk person did not greet me, she did not look at my face when ask about parking she said 'around back' although I was driving a moving truck to wish I had mentioned to her. The thing about these interactions, in a place one is to feel safe for a night is that you get really scared what might this person do. This prejudice people migth dislike you that much for your being that you are a concern for even your safety. When asked about mask regulations in her area, she actually looks up at me and said not yet, as she was not wearing a mask. The room as always was clean and comfortable but will be weary if you are a person of color.

Disappointed in this Hilton Garden Inn

Im not sure how a major chain hotel in a relatively large city is able to operate without some basic Covid protections in place. My family of 4 stayed here for 4 nights. Only twice did I see a front desk employee wearing a mask. There is no partition at the front desk either, which is pretty much standard at most businesses now. Theyre still serving a buffet breakfast in the lobby (which costs extra $)...huh?? So all of that seems to be okay, but when I asked why housekeeping hadnt come to my room after the first day, I was told theres no housekeeping due to Covid. So employees with no masks, a breakfast buffet In the lobby, and an open pool is fine...but having someone come to my room to take the trash and leave new towels is too risky? We just stayed at a HGI in Midwest City, OK two weeks ago and it was soooo much better than this one. By the end of our stay we had overflowing trash and 4 days worth of dirty towels shoved in the closet. Rooms here are big, but outdated. Doors dont close all the way and the tub faucet is separating from wall. They only have 2 washers/dryers to accommodate the entire 4-story hotel and one of the dryers didnt even dry - at all. This hotel is not up to the usual HGI standard. Great area of the city with lots of shopping and restaurants around, but I would pick one of the many other nearby hotels.

No compliance with COVID-19 social distancing

The Hilton claims to enforce social distancing and mask wearing during the pandemic but this is simply not true. When we arrived there was a huge conference hall with over a hundred people packed in, chairs were maybe 6 inches apart and thats being generous. The hallways outside the conference hall had vendor tables so you had to walk past people not wearing masks and not social distancing even if you werent going into the conference room. This was so disappointing and I frankly couldnt believe that Hilton would allow one of its hotels to host a conference during a pandemic. Additionally, the front desk staff member was on her phone and was not quick to offer service. I had to get her attention to check us in. The only good part of our stay was the bartender, Muhamed. He was very friendly and courteous, made us feel welcome and was clearly a hard and dedicated worker. We wont be visiting Hilton hotels in the future.

    Very Clean hotel

This hotel was a very nice surprise for us. It was very clean - down to the remote being in a plastic bag. I still clean everything with disinfectant wipes right now but it was very clean. It was so nice that we could still get food in the morning and for dinner. The staff were very nice and helpful. We stayed twice - on our way too and from Denver. Both times were excellent. The only thing I could comment on was the first night we checked in the front desk staff did not have masks on. There is also no plexiglass between you and the check in staff. We did the online check in so I had a digital key but hubby likes to have his own "key" so we had to stop at the desk. Otherwise, it was perfect. We were so happy to be able to get food at the hotel and bring it to our room.

Appalled at the lack of COVID-19 compliance!

I'm sure this is a nice Hilton if it weren't for COVID, but I couldn't get over the lack of enforcement of safety protocols for the reduction of the spread of this stupid virus. There was absolutely no enforcement of mask wearing for guests (this only works if everyone wears a mask!), very few signs asking guests to wear a mask, no signs telling people not to enter an elevator if other people were already in it, a breakfast buffet where people could help themselves - touching all of the serving utensils and no mask wearing at the buffet, the list goes on and on. I get it that different states have different rules, but ALL of the Hiltons should be following the same rules and trying to enforce them. NOT OK!!! :(
