  improvement from previous stay

  l stay in this hotel in this hotel in the month of August 2020 and l had a warm reception from the receptionist miss Christine who made sure my stay was a pleasant one after l had informed her of my previous bad experience. Thank you miss Christine for making my stay

  Cleanliness an issue

  The staff are very good, especially the bar and restaurant staff. Everything was very organised around Covid. However, the rooms were disappointing. The first I was allocated had blood stains on the mattress cover, which were clearly visible through the bed sheet. Reception staff were helpful and I was given a new room, but even that quilt cover had a large stain on. Its a shame because the staff really are lovely and I would have liked to have given a better review for the hotel.

  Does the job.

  Good location, easy to get to from the motorway. Standard Holiday Inn setup. Plenty of parking. Convenient location for weekends up in the Birmingham/West Brom area. Easy to book via their website. Have stayed here previously with kids also.

  Serves the purpose

  Basic hotel, but thats all it needs to be. Friendly staff, clean room. Really comfy bed. Ideal location close to everything. Felt safe during COVID and would give a 7/10 for my stay. Towels were changed regularly by staff. A pleasant stay at a low price.

  Awful experience

  Travelled from London due to attending funeral of a close family member, which meant the less hassle the better. We paid £62 for one night, where we were then faced with unhelpful staff at check in questioning if my sister & I were from the same household despite this being vetted on the phone by another staff member prior to arriving. Once finally checked in, the room was awful. Extremely claustrophobic and no space to move, not clean (staines on the bathroom sink), broken lights and dirty marks on bed frame and walls. To top it off the BED was horrible. The most uncomfortable hard bed, my pregnant sister woke up feeling so sore as did I. For the quality of the room £62 was WAY overpriced it is worth a maximum £35 if that. We asked if it was possible to leave at 12.45pm as opposed to 12pm due to the funeral starting at 2.30pm and given the hotel is empty due to COVID, again was a hassle with the staff member expressing ''SHOULD'' be fine. THE HOTEL IS EMPTY. It just seemed that the staff member at the time had no interest in making the stay easy given the circumstance we had come for. Upon checking out, I was also randomly asked if I had feedback which I found odd and after expressing all the above and the hassle we had to deal with we were not even offered any sort of compensation. I am still pretty unclear as to why I was asked for feedback on the spot and then did nothing about it. I do not think the stay was satisfactory in any manor and the price was no where near justifiable to have paid.
