    Excellent value

We stayed one night en route to Italy and found hotel staff, location and cleanliness very good. The Manager's recommendation of the Campanile restaurant with 15% discount was excellent as well. We will definitely return.

Friendly but in need of a smarten up.. but then the cost will go up :-)

Euro 39 for the night is not good valve it is VERY CHEAP ! Definitely French white van man stays. No issues here just somewhere to lay your head for the night. I slept well so despite the tired décor must be OK I booked through booking.com and the address I was given was totally wrong. Miles away in a small village.. BOOK DIRECT.

    Absolutely DISGUSTING.

AVOID. Avoid. Avoid. This place is as bad as it gets. Everyting is awful. To start wit it is miles out of town. So nowhere to eat locally except a crappy Campamile next door.. The room is dark and dingy. The bathroom is ... there are no words to describe the disgusting area. The wifi is useless. The beds are uncomfortable. It was cheap but we stayed the night before in Mulhouse for less money in 4 times the space with amazing facilities. This place should be condemned.

Very good value for a one night stop over

Looks a bit tired from the outside but 11 Euros each for three persons in one room is great value. Breakfast a further 5 Euros I think per person - don't think you'll get much better value than 48E B&B Bathroom is tiny but adequate and slept well with the window open as it was quite hot. Breakfast was fine and dinner in the Campanile restaurant next door was great - good friendly service with a tasty set menu WiFi was reasonable

    Première Classe? Sez who?

A room for two plus a breakfast for one, 41 ! I got it via Booking.com. I thought, what the heck, give it a go! How bad can it be? What is 'bad'? I can do 'Basic' but this barely reached subsistence level, to use an anthropological term. The bed-linen was clean, the mattress good, there was peace and quiet at night. The staff were friendly, the breakfast excellent value at 5 euros. However, so many small niggles force me to rate it 'poor'. If I tell you that in the publicity literature the features listed for the rooms included 'toilet paper' and 'a rubbish bin', you may get the picture. I didn't dare use the shower. The soap/shampoo dispenser had a full bag of goo but refused to dispense me any. but the big turn-off was the absence of a bath-mat which I knew would mean a flooded bathroom floor and possibly the floor of the bedroom itself. The bathroom door had obviously suffered a lot of wetness at the bottom and the plywood face was peeling away from the interior. There was nowhere to put anything down, not enough power-points, no carpet, no refinements at all. We were offered a 15% discount for a meal at the Campanile restaurant opposite which we didn't take up. The menu card in our room had the same photo of the same creepy chef figure as we had seen at the Metz Campanile. The wi-fi was not advertised in the room. I asked the reception chap about it and his instructions to access it were of such Byzantine complication that I dismissed the idea. Having the stairs outside and the room doors opening on to long outside passageways, the hotel put me in mind of the old Peabody Buildings in the east end of London or the Glasgow Gorbals. The stairs were rough, nasty concrete. Still, you pays yer money and... etc. I stayed several times in the Seamen's Mission in Bremen, Germany, which had a similar feel, clean but ultra-basic. You get what you pay for. I didn't pay much and I got accordingly little.
