Relaxing HolidayWe made a last minute booking for Budget priced All inclusive holiday in July 2015. At Hotel Irmak we got what we paid for: A comfortable basic room, food a bit repetitive but there was always something to eat. Swimming pool OK. Staff charming, friendly and very helpful, especially since we tried (and mostly failed) to speak some Turkish. Using please and thank you goes a long way to get a friendly response. The young bartender (training at Istanbul to be an anaesthetist) was keen to practice his English, and all of the bar staff, and waiters gave good service. If you are looking for a Hotel with lively entertainment in the evenings then this isn't the place for you. But we wanted a quiet relaxing time and for that Hotel Irmak proved just right. A 5 minute walk will take you to lively bars and restaurants, and the beach. Thanks to all the staff at Hotel Irmak.

The worst hotelWell... where do I start ?? My first visit to Marmaris with the worst hotel. First we've arrived around 4 am the bell boy didn't speak English at all so we had a difficulty to communicate. The room was horrible we were placed in an attic with a damaged Ac.. In the next morning we tried to talk to the front desk agent to change the room that we have already booked but she was rude, snobby, mean and she lacks the sense of communication. The room attended doesn't understand the exact meaning of cleaning we got dirty towels, and the beds were not comfy at all. The breakfast was terrible with no taste even the omelet taste like vomit very not appealing plus every morning the same no change of any sort. The lunch and diner were kind of good but too much spices.. the lobby and the reception area felt like a suna eating and sweating like a pig. Moreover the swimming erea is really small and no sufficient sun beds even the slide is turn on 2 times only for 3o minutes no fun at all; babies have difficulties to get in the pool for it lacks stairs or a space the ambience and the mood of the hotel is really down .. the drinks stops at 10:30 and if one asked for certain drink the answer is ' WE DON'T HAVE ' though we booked as all inclusive.. the staff we kind of good and helpful but whene they want so 50/50 equation. Many more to say what a shame a beautiful place but a horrible hotel I don't recommend it at all HELL NO

Get what you paid for!!!I found the bar staff, waiters and kitchen staff friendly and helpful, reception staff not so. Food very reptitive, very basic and bland. Room was run down and extremely basic, shower was so small you couldnt turn around in it. Place could do with a refurbishment and a new menu. The hotel is small so it was quite nice to get to know a few of the guests. Price to keep the room longer on the last day varied from £4 to £50 depending on who you asked. Would go to Turkey again but would give this hotel a miss. All inclusive would be nice to have snacks or ice creams available and a few more drink choices.

Cheap but not cheerful.I dropped a TA rank recently and after investigation I found that my honest review of the Irmak had vanished without a trace. This review replaces the one that was removed. This hotel is poor (but not completely terrible). It is a budget option but I still feel I paid too much. Its located in a verdant yet unkempt back street. The street is terrible with pavements that are hard to walk along as they are in such a bad state of repair. The rooms are extremely dated although spacious Our room had broken air conditioning. The all inclusive bar had a quite limited selection but did the job. The pool is small but quite clean although it is in the shade for most of the day. The slide is only in operation for a couple of hours through the day. The bar at the front of the hotel is ran as a separate business, We met a friendly barman who went out of his way to make us feel welcome (the only staff e who did), but Avoid the cocktails which all seem to be made with terrible white wine and taste nothing like they should. The hotel is Russian-owned and has a lot of Russian speaking guests to whom [in our experience] the staff give a much higher priority to than English-speaking guests. We missed an excursion we had paid for separately because the reception told them we weren't staying there and they left without us. We sat there and watched it all happen but it all happened in Turkish and our names were never called so we only found out when we got worried it was so late and we asked the guy to contact them for us. He in no way showed that he could care less. The food was TERRIBLE! Well, the breakfast was fine, plentiful and many items were quite nice although there were many savory items I have never seen on a breakfast anywhere in the world. I never ate the lunchtime meals but attempted to eat the evening meal each night. The first night most of the hotels guest were waiting for the meal at the advertised time and well over half an hour later at least 30 guests were ready to kill for their meal. When I got my first look at the food I was disappointed to say the least. Fried fish, veg and potato wedges and I think some cauliflower cheese was the meal on the first night. It was terrible but that's not the point I'm making. That was the entire selection, that plus the 40 different bowls of assorted pickled vegetables that were hanging around at breakfast. The next night I was equally disappointed. The saving grace is that the very limited selection yielded some sort of unidentifiable meat cutlet which was more edible than the previous night's fish. I love fish. I hated that fish. To include the comments of another family we were speaking to, they were taking their 2 children out to McDonalds each day as they 'couldn't' eat any of the food (and they were on all inclusive). While I think the children were overly picky and this was an extreme reaction, I can confirm that I ate nothing at mealtimes in the Irmak that could not have been beaten in freshness, quality and taste by a day old Big Mac. I fell into the trap of reading TA and deciding that despite the reviews, it couldn't be that bad. It is and you should trust this review and others like it. I would not dream of going back and I have actively warned friends and family. I have low standards or this review would have been rated terrible.
