  Excelente experiencia tradicional

  Nos fue difícil encontrar un hotel en esa zona ya que planeabamos ir en temporada alta, muy pocos hoteles tienen páginas en inglés, y además buscábamos una habitación con baño propio. Encontramos Shibu Hotel, excelente hotel con personal muy atento y amable. No solo pasaron por nosotros a la estación de tren, también, nos llevaban y recogían en la parada para tomar el camión a Ryuoo Ski Park, y al parque de los monos. La habitación tradicional fue una experiencia interesante y divertida, lugar muy cómodo y limpio. Respecto a la comida, contratamos desayuno y cena (solo sirven comida tradicional). Si no estás acostumbrado a la comida japonesa puede ser algo difícil, sin embargo, puedes pedir con antelación que no te sirvan pescado crudo, etc. Shibu y Yudanaka es conocido por tener varios onsens (baños japoneses). El hotel te da una llave, la cual te da acceso a varios onsens públicos en esa zona. Solo pudimos visitar uno, pero comparando ese, recomiendo mejor ir al onsen privado que tiene el hotel. Una vez mas, excelente hotel, con personal sumamente amable =)

  Very friendly and accommodating

  We stayed at Shibu Hotel Jan 27-31, 2020 and did not regret booking this hotel for our main purpose of going to the Snow Monkey Park. The hotel staff and owner were very welcoming and accommodating. Even thought they were not very proficient in speaking English they really went out of their way to communicate with us. We had a sumptious Traditional Japanese dinner on our third night and it was worth the extra expense, you have to order this in advance. They have tradional Japanse rooms, and ours came with a wonderful view.

  Easily one of my favorite stays!

  Shibu Hotel went above and beyond my expectations! I currently live in Japan and wanted to see the Snow Monkey's. Through a travel agent, I booked my stay here at Shibu Hotel which is within walking distance from the park (they do offer shuttle though to and from). The staff was fantastic and they really made my wife and I feel at home, they were so friendly and accommodating. They offered to pick us up from the train station and at Monkey Park. The hotel has an onsen, which I did the private one with my wife, we loved it. It was so relaxing and peaceful. The rooms were traditional, comfortable, and very cozy. Fantastic views, complimentary tea, and much more. My wife and I just hung out in the room for hours at night just to relax and enjoy the simplicity. Our night came with dinner and breakfast. The dinner surprised me the most, I didn't know what to expect and the meal just blew me away. Plate after plate of delicious food. They had private areas for couples, it was so romantic, I felt like I was at a luxurious resort. The food was different then what I am used to, but it was all so good! The breakfast was an adventure as well. I could go on and on about how great our stay was here but I think I can convince anyone to stay here, I highly recommend staying here. I hope to come back next year and tack on extra day!

  The reviews are all right - book this one, trust me

  So much to say about Shibu Hotel so let me start with the big points - Free pickup from Yudanaka Station - you can transfer here from Nagano (go down the steps). Call the Shibu Hotel when you know your train time - Free transfer to the Snow Monkey Onsen leafing you to do the last 10 mins on flat ground - MUCH appreciated - Free secure key access to 9 Onsen in the town + 3 at the Ryokan = TWELVE Onsens are for your use. Ask for the souvenir towel (in red envelope) and you can get a stamp for visiting each Onsen + a 10th stamp from a small shrine above Onsen number 9. Check the example of a completed towel to the right of reception. The hotel is a Ryokan which means traditional Japanese style without skimping on quality. There are some basic rules about Ryokan the owners will be all too happy to explain to you which are simple things like leaving your shoes at the door. Optionally you can wear a sized Yukata (similar to a kimono) for your stay and even when visiting the neighbouring onsens (it makes changing easier and you wont look out of place). Theyll be ready and welcoming with a smile and make yourself at home mantra that is embodied thoughout your stay. All the staff were incredibly pilots and helpful, whether at checkin, breakfast, pickups or generally around the Ryokan. The lady owner in particular needs a special mention for driving me out for dinner one night, picking me up and an the day I left, meeting me on the train to Negano, unrequested, because Id left something in my room and she drove it back to me herself. Yes stay in a Ryokan and yes make it the SHIBU HOTEL - it is worth the high standard of reviews and more.

  Simply the Best

  Spent 8 days here recently, skiing at nearby Shiga Kogen. Simply the best hotel we've stayed at in our many trips to this wonderful country. Not because its facilities are super luxurious - they're not but they are very comfortable - but rather because of the delightful, ever accommodating, ever helpful owners and staff. I recommend this hotel, without reservation.
