  Great location and handy to everywhere!

  The motel is quite modern with great bar and restaurant (although the restaurant was closed during our stay) we still had a look around, friendly and helpful staff. Our suite was modern and well stocked with breakfast items and included a complimentary bottle of wine which was a nice touch.

  Disappointed

  The room was tired and dated, the bed was hard - like sleeping on a slab of concrete. The room was overpriced and didnt live up to its advertised potential. The walls are paper thin and we could hear everything that happened in the room next door. The cleaner does a good job with a very poor room. We did notice weeds growing in the gutters. Very disappointed. Next time we will be looking elsewhere.

  Would stay again

  Had 2 nights there and found room clean and bed comfortable. Staff in restaurant very accommodating and we had a lovely breakfast and evening meal. Pleasant grounds and well maintained, we found it good value and not far from shops/cafes.

  Standard - Average

  We wanted a holiday to Barossa Valley. We chose Barossa Weintal Hotel because we saw reviews of 4.5 star. I think when people leave reviews they need to know what the difference is with 3 star accommodation and 4.5 star. The room was clean (which is no 1), and all the regular things you need within the room, beds clean, bathroom clean had staples (lotion, shampoo, conditioner etc which we bring ourselves) , kettle was available along with staples (coffee, sugar, tea, milk) One thing that I found to be really strange was there is a housekeeping facility available, with the "do not disturb" and "please make up my room" sign, yet they don't make up your room or refresh things while you are out? Apparently they won't come in any clean if you aren't there? I didn't quite understand that? We were there for 5 night, and no one cleaned our bathroom? Only put more coffee, tea etc in a paper bag and left a more saying if we need anything to get it from reception? So I had to go to reception to get towels, toilet paper, new plates, cups, cutlery etc for the room? That was a bit odd I found. Considering I'm there for a holiday and it's got "housekeeping" I would have assumed that meant cleaning the room also? I'm not going to sit in the room while housekeeping cleans? Found it very simple, not exactly 4.5 star. Showed that there is a pool in the facility - it was empty? The only thing we found to be good (although simple) was the restaurant/bar. Great staff. Good variety for drinks and breakfast. Overall it was standard - Average. Not 4.5 star.

  Room average, staff in bar and restaurant extremely rude and unhelpful.

  Went for a drink in the bar and was constantly told to vacate table as it was booked for dinner even though there were no reserved signs. People arrived and were placed in another section of the room not the main section. People having breakfast on outside table had their breakfast delivered with no cutlery or salt & pepper. He asked for sauce and it took 10-15 minutes for it to arrive. Their breakfast would have been cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
