  Wonderful View, comfortable room, great value.

  For the price, this is a great place to stay. It's not a Four Seasons and I think it's important to understand that it is not a 4 or 5 star luxury resort (the price reflects this) but it's clean, the room is very well designed for the space, and the location is very convenient. I had a one bedroom suite, the bedroom was in the back (near the door) and a nice sized sitting area with a beautiful ocean view front of the unit. The unit had a small kitchen perfect for breakfast and snacks. The gym was great, the roof top pool is top notch. The beds were super comfortable, the balcony was awesome, and the staff was very friendly. Really, a great place to stay.

  mold, mildew and smoke

  This is the worst timeshare I have ever stayed at in over 20 years. We had problems opening the door/broken and it would not shut all of the way..but as soon as we entered and the door almost hit the bed, we smelled mold, mildew and smoke. The furniture was spray painted grey and they missed spots. The dresser was not only broken with the drawers not closing but the molding was ripped off. There was a water stained picture in the living area. When we pulled out the couch for someone to sleep on it was so stained the person wouldn't sleep there. The gym equipment was dirty, the tennis court net ripped, upstairs pool disgusting, food over priced. We stayed in room 306. Several people were smoking out on their porch and the smell was awful. The carpeting was so dirty I wouldn't let my feet touch it without slippers on. The floor tile was cracked in several places. The unit that they advertised as a one bedroom didn't even have a window and the last time I checked in order to be classified as a bedroom it should have a door, window and closet. When we asked the women at the front desk if we could be moved she said no. I tried several other places to stay (hotels, etc) but they didn't have the full week. If so, I would have just left and lost my money on the place. The restrooms in the lobby were filthy. They said everything was sterilized but I am telling you my experience. There were kids running up and down the hallways until midnight. The people in the unit next to us decided to have a party with at least ten people, they were smoking pot, and cigarettes until 4 am. Someone must have complained (it wasn't me but I was getting ready to), when the security guard came up he banged on my door at 2 AM in the morning and said it wasn't shut all the way. Ummmm....no kidding...it was broken. He did nothing about the people in the room next door. I would not recommend staying here even if you get the place free.

  Money

  I am checking In tomorrow and I am not happy I get told today 300 deposit and then I really dont have it called to see if they could help because I want to see my son because I havent seen him in 8 months I just had total knee replacement surgery and Im spending everything I have and they just wont help so now I am trying to get up the money because my son is deploying in January again and they wont help I wont stay here again after all of this

  Pleased with Hotel

  My husband and I visited Nov 19-21, 2020. Hotel was clean and staff super friendly and helpful. Check-in and check out was very convenient. Extremely pleased the indoor pool was open as well as RiVive Restaurant which was located on site. Stayed in room 1010. King size bed, large garden tub, balcony, kitchenette (microwave was a convection oven combo so that's a plus). Ice and drink machines located on this floor. Plenty of towels and pool towels were also provided. Convenient to shops and restaurants. Bike rental just outside the hotel on the oceanfront. Only a few negatives to the room; the bathroom was extremely small (a large person would be unable to fit inside the toilet area); the bathroom door stuck and was hard to open and close (children or elderly would be unable to open and close door); I was assured this room contained a whirlpool/Jacuzzi/jetted tub which is important to me due to back issues (I asked specifically when I called to make the reservatiom and again upon check in) but the room we booked only had a garden tub without jets. Staff took all Covid protections such as plexiglass, masks, touch free check in/check out process, hand sanitizing stations throughout the hotel. Parking garage is very tight. We own a small SUV so we were ok but anything larger would need to park in overflow parking across the street. If I could recommend anything to Diamond Resorts it would be to reduce the "incidentals" hold of $300 on debit/credit card. We had no issue with this hold but the steep price of this may be challenging for many families who are traveling. This is one of the highest holds I have paid while staying at the oceanfront (20 plus trips in the last 5 years). Having the option of early check in/late check out would also be beneficial, and I would think possible for the hotel to accommodate during the off season (check in 4 pm check out 10 am) I would have given this a 5 star rating with the exception of misinformation regarding the tub in the hotel room and the $300 debit/credit card hold. I will absolutely consider this hotel again for future VA Beach travel. Overall, this is a great place to stay!

  Party Hotel Scam

  We visited the Beach Quarter for a small family wedding in the middle of the pandemic. I was concerned about going but finally agreed. We booked the hotel for 4 nights, Saturday to Wednesday for $770, about $170 a night plus some fees. We were promised due to the pandemic that we could cancel any time and get a full refund. Thats mostly why I booked it knowing that if we got uncomfortable we could leave and not be out a ton of money. We stayed only the first night because its a party hotel. The room next door to us was smoking inside and throwing a big get together. We called the front desk to complain but they did nothing. The room we stayed in was pretty outdated and the lock on the balcony door didnt work. After the first night we decided to move hotels. We found a nicer hotel for less money! When I checked out I asked again about being refunded and the front desk said I would be. After a few days I got my refund. It was only $350. That didnt make much sense, I was expecting more like $500. I called customer service to figure it out, it coulda been a mistake. They told me since I checked out early I no longer qualified for a multiple day discount. So the rate for just the Saturday night was $300 plus a resort fee. What a scam. Whats the resort fee for? The pool. Because its real smart to have your pool open in the middle of a pandemic. I probably wont be back to Virginia Beach anytime soon. But if i did, I wouldnt stay here. Spend your money where your bed isnt mildewy and your room doesnt smell like smoke.
