  A true mountain paradise

  We spent a few days here in January and highly reccomend the Gastohof zum Hirschen. Accomodations are simple but comfortable and clean. The hosts are extremely friendly and helpful and will happily help you organize any excursions that you are interested in. The town is tiny and peaceful - a perfect choice for people looking for a peaceful refuge. Highly reccomended is the restaurant which offers fantastic local dishes of the South Tyrol.

  Family owned hotel with superb personalized service and excellent food

  Just 1 hour away from Bolzano greets you an 'Alto Adige' treasure in the middle of pine trees, pastures and middle age picturesque little towns. Our stay was completely incredible, we focused on bike rentals that the hotel kindly helped us with, providing us with bikes and equipment to make our bike tour by the Val Di Non an unforgettable one. The food lived up to it's reputation, very good and excellent service by owners. We think the room where we stayed needs renovation, but the apart from that, the trip to Senale- Saint Felix in Gasthof sum Hirschen is one we will never forget. The Kofler-Mocatti: Georgio the poet, Mirko, Ingrid and Mrs. Kofler all contribute in a great way to make your stay the best possible, they are truly customer oriented. Just outside the hotel you will find many trails with breathtaking views, trails where you will find amazing details as 500-1000 year old structures that make these trails toward mt. Luco a fascinating one. I can not stress the unforgettable experience that the bike rental was for us. We were taken by Giorgio the poet to the town of Fondo, where we began our route via Ronzone, Cavareno, Romeno, Malgolo, Salter and back north to the lake Smeraldo in Fondo where Georgio the poet picked us up to take us back to Gasthof zum Hirschen after 4 hours of biking! During our bike ride we found a tiny roman church (Chiesa di SS Bartolomeo e Tommaso). Our scenery consisted of many apple plantations, cherries and vineyards, luckily blue skys and the Dolomites at the horizon, soft hills adorned by medieval towns and prairies like you never seen before. This was not a very touristy area, more Europeans than anything else, kind how we like it, thus the psychological feeling that this is still a best kept secret.

  Hidden gem in the mountains

  I just returned home from another stay at the Gasthof zum Hirschen. I have been returning to this guesthouse year after year because of the unparalleled, friendly service, superb food, and wonderful outings in the area. I would HIGHLY recommend it !

  Non-transparent pricing on included services

  Heavenly place, BUT promise not kept. My half board deal (attachment) included 2 guided hikes but, on the final bill, they charged me for one of them without any prior notice! Moreover, the second hike was organised on the spot and did not follow the itinerary and winter sport as per half board deal (attachment) Very disappointed.

  A corner of paradise

  It was just the perfect location for the perfect holiday. Service is impeccable. Great food. The surroundings are just stunning. The rooms on the top floor where we stayed were brand new and cosy and big. They were also connected despite being separate by a door so if you are a family its the perfect solution. The cuisine is innovative yet traditional. The terrace with the solarium is a calming, beautiful place. Within 30/40 minute drive you reach a range of stunning places, and there are lovely hikes also from the hotel. I would go back tomorrow if I could.
