  Wonderful

  We snuck away for the night and wanted somewhere not too far from home. We found Glewstone Court and decided to give it a go. The weather was not pleasant and on arrival, instead of a walk, we simply sat in the peace of the room, reading and doing crosswords. I had a bath in the beautiful roll top bath. Hot water was (a) hot and (b) in abundance. Then to dinner. The service was friendly and the food was - dare I say it - fantastic. We both had scallops to start, which came presented in a way I have not seen before. They were delicious. We splashed the cash on the Chateaubriand and were extremely pleased with our choice. I had a pear tatin and my husband had the cheesecake. Again. Outstanding. A good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed. The heating in the room can be adjusted, which is always a bonus, and the room (and indeed the rest of the hotel) was spotlessly clean. And the breakfast. Well. I was heard to say I think thats the best breakfast I have ever had. All in all it was the perfect choice for a little break and we would definitely return should the opportunity arise.

  No value for money

  Room rates are totally overpriced. There is no "wow" effect. We opted for the more expensive room rate just to have more space. The bathroom is nothing special and there was even the smell from the kitchen coming through the ventilation system. There is also a busy dual carriageway nearby which can be heard during the night if you tend to sleep with an open window.

  A Perfect Break

  We stayed at Glewstone Court for two nights. We had an absolutely amazing time. This is a beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting. We had booked one of the smaller rooms through Booking.com but Sam offered us an upgrade for a very small charge and gave us a lovely and comfortable room. Sam was extremely helpful with advice on the area and called us prior to our arrival to book a table for dinner. The restaurant, Cedar Tree, serves exquisite food. We had dinner there on both nights and it was the kind of food that makes you very happy. Kudos to the chef. Breakfast was fresh and we enjoyed that, too. They have undertaken extra efforts to make the hotel COVID secure. I must say that this was exactly the sort of break I was looking for. Thank you to Sam and everyone else at Glewstone Court for making our trip a memorable one.

  Wedding Meal

  Thank you to Sam and the team for making our wedding meal such a special and memorable occasion. Glewstone Court was a wonderful setting and service was faultless throughout the evening. We pre-ordered food off the al a carte menu which was of a very high standard and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Glewstone Court if you a looking for somewhere for a special occasion.

  Family Birthday meal

  Good food, friendly service, fair value and a lovely location. What else could you ask for? We will certainly be back to enjoy this again in the future. Good luck to the team in these peculiar times..
