  More than expected!

  I was here for work and new to the area. Great food in the hotel with a few different options including Italian and seafood. Responsive house-keeping and friendly associates. Clean rooms and sanitizer stations.

  Beautiful hotel but....

  Before arrival: I made this reservation specifically for daytime use (8am-6pm) and room service to watch the Inauguration as a mental health day without kids. Twenty-fours before my visit I received a call from the hotel (agent B) to welcome me and I was told check-in was noon. I explained that when I made this reservation I told agent A I wanted a daytime room and was quoted a higher price ($229) for daytime use. Agent B told me it would be an additional $50 to check-in before noon. I asked to speak with manager and explained my situation and my price was reduced to $199. Frustrating to go through this process when I initially booked this room specifically for daytime use. Day of check-in: No problems checking in but price ended up being $230ish. Room service: If you are booking this hotel for room service, dont. I called the front desk and was told to go to website to check menu. Grain didnt open until noon and they never answered their phone. The front desk stated it is always hard to get into contact with them. We ended up doing Uber Eats. View: Beautiful Cleanliness: Overall really clean but small table in room needs to be cleaned

  Good business trip

  Had a river view room on the 10th floor - nice view of the Elizabeth River. Actually caught one day of really nice weather to enjoy before the usual parade of winter storms passed through! Room was clearly clean and well-maintained in this COVID world - felt completely at ease until I worked out in the fitness center. REALLY need signage to emphasize masks MUST be worn DURING the workouts as well because of everyone's closer proximity in an enclosed gym area. Saw several people moving freely through the hotel (including to and from fitness center) without masks on at all.

  The Hamptons

  Taecori Scott was very Professional, Pleasant and Hospitable. From the moment that we checked in, I knew that our stay would be enjoyable. And upon check out Mr. Scott was there to greet us with that same warm smile and pleasant attitude. The room was great and the view was amazing. We will be back!!!

  WOW!!!!!

  WOW!!! One word totally sums up my stay at this hotel for the weekend. Everything was fantastic from check in to checkout. The lobby is beautifully decorated and everything felt and smelled so clean. I recognized all employees wearing masks and I loved that there were sanitizer stations everywhere. We did eat breakfast and dinner at Saltine, which was simply amazing. Eventhough everyone we encountered was pleasant there was one employee that stood out and really went above and beyond for me. Taecori is a TRUE GEM!!! He really understands and exemplifies what hospitality is all about. From the moment I met him at check-in he was extremely nice and very accommodating. He noticed I was in a leg brace and went out of his way to make sure I was happy and very comfortable. Major Kudos to him!!!
