  Worst food we've ever eaten

  We have just spent a week at this hotel and are still shocked at how bad the food was. Minestrone soup, for example, was a tin of mixed vegs floating in a bowl of hot water. No seasoning or taste. Sunday lunch was two slices of meat (?) , two broccoli florets and a tablespoon of courgettes that tasted as though they had been fried in fish oil. Inedible. Breakfast fried eggs and bacon were cold, although kept in a hot plate. A bowl of yogurt to put on the tinned fruit was not replenished for days and still had old bits of fruit in it. Another guest asked for potatoes and when 'curry and chicken bits ' was on the menu, a spoonful of Smash was added!! As far as we could see, no fresh food was served all week. As we were celebrating our Silver Wedding, we were very disappointed and ate elsewhere. The hotel in general is dated but clean and our room was very basic but functional. A memorable stay but for all the wrong reasons.

  Art nouveau hotel with 80's furniture

  The doormat says it's a 4 star hotel, the window has 3 stars. Maybe they had to give one back? I liked it anyway. It has a 20's feel to it, of times long gone, fancy parties and aristocrats. Nice diningroom andere staircases, pretty spacious rooms and a grande bathroom one can dance in. The furniture does not fit though. Outside there's a nice garden with plenty of seats. And cars. But it's nice you van park your car for free at the hotel. The lake is a few metres away. Breakfast is good. Diner ok.

  ideal !

  great location,shops,post office,bank bars,restaurants all nearby.Hotel in its own grounds with swimming pool and lovely gardens.A great décor of the past nicely kept from an age of the 1930-1950's as a couple we really enjoyed our 2 nights here! Our room had all facilities no problems and all staff were attentive and friendly. food and bar service were good!. Great base for Lake Garda.

  Ideal location

  We stayed here with a group of friends from around Europe the location made it easy to walk to the lake and there were a large number of restaurants close by. The façade of the hotel is attractive the interior somewhat faded; the rooms were clean and functional rather than luxurious but suited our needs as we spent little time in them. Our group had a set dinner included in our package it was stogy and unimpressive but it was for a group of 24 so not surprising. Breakfast was adequate if not inspiring but the bar service at the hotel was extremely slow as they just did not seem to have staff to cover particularly once dinner service had started in the restaurant.

  A piece of yesterday and wonderful atomsphere

  As you enter Hotel Maderno, you are travelling back in time. A wonderful relaxed place to good prices. Fantastic staff and awsome rooms. There is a penthouse, 301, that makes you smile. Elevator available. History is near by all the time. A drink by the pool ist the ultimat ending of a long day at the beach. Just book it and go there. You will not be dissappointed.
