  Horse riding par excellance

  We arrived as a group of nine in two families. In the end 6 of us four adults and two kids went on a 3hr horse trail ride through the sensational Umbrian countryside. Wonderfully managed and instructed this one one of the most memorable experiences of our month in Europe. We didn't stay on site so this review is for the riding only. However given our experience we would definitely consider a shot stay onsite.

  Wonderful staying, food and horse riding

  I two consecutive weekends at "Il Felcino" and we fell in love with the place and the people, and will definitely come back to this great place. The ambiance is simple and looks very nice, which gives a sense of familiarity and relax. Food is simply great! From fresh pasta to local meat and products from the region, every course is happiness for the palate. Service is also great: all the people smile and are attentive to your needs and requests. Last but really not least: horse riding. Giancarlo, the horse master, is a very nice person and careful trainer. He switched back on my passion for horses and paid so much attention to our 6-year old daughter that now she has the same passion too. Thanks Giancarlo! If you travel to Central Italy don't miss Il Felcino!

  Peaceful & off the beaten path

  We stayed at the time of the truffle festival in Fabro - it turned out to be a bit more expensive than expected as the cost (provided by a friend who had booked us in) was per person not per room! The accommodations are basic - not luxurious - with no special touches, but clean and well maintained. Breakfast and wi-fi in the main lodge (not in the guest accommodations) was good. Unfortunately we did not get an opportunity to dine at Il Felcino - the aroma of cooking was tempting and judging by the number of locals who drove out there for dinner on a November evening it must be pretty good.

  Super, dog-friendly place to stay

  We have 4 dogs, so finding a place that will take all of us can be a problem. Il Felcino took us in with open arms. It's run by an extremely friendly couple. Rustic cabins, swimming pool, conveniently located for trekking in a nearby nature reserve. By far, the absolute best feature though is the restaurant where they prepare their own chianina beef and cinta sinese pork. The food is amazing. Both times we visited we ate breakfast, lunch and dinner for a full weekend and still felt sad to leave and not have tried everything!
