  Gorgeous property tucked away

  This is a gorgeous property. Kind and helpful staff. Great amenities, some closed do to covid. Olympic size Pool and Jacuzzi open. Decent rooms, awesome views. Beautiful restaurant and bar but currently closed, that's ok who isn't. However,seems like they get tough crowds staying here which makes it unpleasant especially for families and getting sleep. Definitely worth a visit.

  I Though it Was Gonna Turn Bad...

  This nice but dated hotel just needs a little love and fixing up. Well, a little more love and a lot of fixing up? The potential is great. Lots of space, nice sized rooms and of course the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan just steps from the hotel. But the space is in disrepair and that was a bit of a hamper to our stay. The bathroom was freezing cold, like being OUTSIDE. The walls were thin enough to hear our neighbor click a light switch and the internet/cable connection, well... we ended up watching the U-Haul channel because that's all that would come in and keep a signal. All of these little things, plus being first placed in a room adjoining some sort of cuss-out fighting couple made me think, "This is NOT going to work out". But immediately Kyle, who checked us in, moved our room FAAAAR away from any noise. And when some did show up next to us (again) he shut that party DOWN. Our stay ended up being quiet and beautiful (except for the bathroom that felt like an outhouse, but we kind of patchworked a solution for that ourselves). Once we left we found a charge on our credit card that was unauthorized. Again I thought, "Here we go!" When I contacted Michael at the desk he was quick and efficient in finding out how the charge happened and he removed it within an hour. BIG shout outs to Kyle and to Michael who saved our trip from turning bad! With a little upgrading this hotel can probably return to its former glory as a beachfront paradise.

  Needs better cleaning staff!

  The over all stay was okay. We had several of issues with our one night stay. We encountered our first issue when arriving at the pool. There were NO pool towels left in the bin but a full bin of dirty towels it was 5 pm. I let the front desk staff know and she said she would get more. I checked a few times and there were never any clean towels. Our second encounter was about 10 pm there was a "family" about 15 together in a few different rooms. They were running around the halls and even banged on our door at some point the noise stopped about 11 pm. The third issue i had was the t.v didn't work. I called the front desk and they sent a person to my room to pick up the remote and change the channel basically confirming what I said not to fix it. So we were asked to switch rooms at 11:15 pm we packed up and did so. Although the t.v worked in the second room it was DIRTY!!! There was hair on the sheets, bathroom toilet didn't work, the furniture was dated, the fridge was hard to open and blankets super thin. The pool is huge and plenty of space to keep groups spaced out main reason we booked. The staff was friendly and courteous. Most of the other guest were nice and respectful. The view from our room was decent "lake view". This hotel has potential it needs an update, new sheets and blankets and a better cleaning staff!

  Weekend getaway

  Lovely location on the lake with beautiful views. Close to everything including food and shopping. Enjoyed the state park with its trails and nature. Many activities on snd near the lake and beaches. Will definitely ely come back

  Best Kept beautiful secret on Lake Michigan halfway between Chicago & Wisconsin

  This is a GREAT little hidden get away spot halfway between Chicago & Wisconsin. It is always clean, bright, quiet and the rooms are beautifully decorated with AWESOME 3D views of Lake Michigan . While you can't see the Chicago skyline you won't miss it because you get to enjoy the lake front, state park forest preserve, camp grounds and all it's beauty up close and personally ! This is a spacious modern facility that is great for both families and romantic getaways. The olympic sized tropical pool is always clean , warm and an added bonus . I've been coming here year round for the past 4yrs and as someone who worked in travel and travels a lot, I must say it's one of my favorite BW's and it always lifts my spirits when I visit. The staff is friendly , helpful , professional and down to earth. Which brings my mind to Mr. Kyle who went above and beyond on my recent stay there to make sure I was pleased with my room . He even allowed me to pick my own room and offered snacks!:) The ladies that work the front desk where full of concern as well as full of compliments. So while this place IS a little far and secluded also under current renovations, so all of the amennities may be currently unavailible , please don't miss out on this one! It 's perfect for staycations or short getaways as you don't even feel like your're in Illinois and it will certainly give you the feel of going on vacation and great pics for the Gram.
