  Perfect Staycation

  We spend three nights here with our dog. Lodge was perfect, slightly dated but very clean and COVID safe, bedding and towels all of a good standard. Plenty logs supplied for log burner, our only negative point take newspapers, easier for lighting. Breakfast served at the main hotel was lovely and plenty choice of continental and cooked - obviously its no longer buffet but served to you and staff really friendly, even though they are very busy. Right in the centre so easy for walking about or driving up to the local walks. Definitely return!

  Expensive for doggie

  Wouldn't use again because they charge a lot for your dog although staff told us children more destructive. We have stayed here many times but now to expensive because of dog. you can't use facilities because your not allowed to leave dog alone in chalets.

  Wonderful Experience

  A short break in one of the woodland lodges did not disappoint. The lodge was spacious and immaculately presented. Quality toiletries were provided and everything worked perfectly. The bedding was spotless and we loved the fact you provide large pillows as standard. We had a log burner in the lounge and ample logs were in the basket. Yes, the lodges are a little dated but when everything is presented in the way that it was, then this does not matter. We ate in the hotels on a couple of nights and were most impressed with the COVID arrangements in place and the efficient way that service was carried out. The quality and quantity of food was first class and good value. We did stay in the hotel a couple of years ago and I must say there is a real improvement even with the current restrictions. Well done all... Can't wait to return.

  Repeat visit

  This is the 3rd time we have stayed in the lodges, it will probably be our last. Check in was a brutal experience.The location of the lodges are perfect and the surrounding area wonderful, however. The lodges are now looking really tired and old, they definitely need some money spending on them. Rooms were OK - but expensive for what we paid. We had all the heaters and the log burner on and we were still cold. Kitchen wasn't very well supplied and because of the current restrictions we ended up having take away quite a bit and therefore eating in the lodge. Was a bit dismal. We breakfasted in the hotel on site, which was a really poor experience. They couldn't have made you feel more unwelcome. Restaurant was looking tired and not especially clean. Only one person serving cooked breakfast which made for a long wait. Toast and drinks came out barely warm and my biggest bugbear of all - being charged a £2 supplement for a latte or Cappuccino ! after spending nearly £1500 to be there. Inexcusable. We only had dinner once in the restaurant on the first night. Completely lacking in any atmosphere, no flowers, music or anything that could've actually made it a decent experience. Very expensive food and vastly overpriced soft drinks. Quality of food was OK, but not for the money. Service was OK - the whole experience was definitely not worth the money. They also charged extra for the dog. Really poor. Its almost as if these places want to go out of business. Don't understand it, used to be a great place.

  1st time in the lodges

  I have been visiting aviemore for well over 30 yrs and this is the 1st time we booked a woodland lodge and it will NOT be the last as it was AMAZING. Value for money is great, they are clean, comfortable, well situated and within a 5 minute walk to the swimming pool. The hotel staff were amazing and a two special mention too the lifeguard in the swimming pool he was outstanding and made our visit feel safe and very very good fun and also to luis at the restaurant as he was also great and again made us feel welcome. We hope to get back up when all the current restrictions are over and will be back to the lodges.
