A very good hotel for skiers

This is a nice hotel, conveniently situated near ski slopes, ski rent shop and ski school, but also close to the shops and restaurants. Perfect for skiing trip, children friendly and very comfortable. Good value for money.

    good and cozy hotel

we had a room at the end of the floor. It was quiet. The breakfast is good. The cleaning lady works very hard. But he curtain in the room is too thin. It is very light in the room in the early morning.

    Convenient hotel

We stayed at ramada hotel and suits for 5 nights last week. Hotel is very close to the slopes and it has a room to store your skis so it is very convenient for a ski holiday. Unfortunately, the ski room is by the garbage bins of the hotel, in the car park, so it is not really a pleasant trip. The rooms are very outdated, with red carpets, old curtains, beds and pillows. The most annoying for me was the lack of power sockets, there are two, one in the bathroom and one by the entrance door.. The bathroom was spacious and well looked after. The hotel gives you access to the pool area by the ramada hotel which is very close by. It is really nice but please note that they charge 2 eur per towel, non refundable fee for each towel, they are not even nice towels. Breakfast was nothing special, there are lots of fresh fruits, but the coffee on offer was really bad. Hotel is very close to the village and there are a number of good restaurants so we never tried lunch or dinner at the hotel. Most of the staff is trying their best to be helpful, unfortunately, the hotel is very outdated, lacks any sort of ambience and warmness. It is quiet suprising as this hotel really looks neglected when compared with their sister hotel with its very nice reception / bar area with a fire place.

    Pool

I was with my family. The pool was large, but only for the children's pool was too cold. So me and my baby (10month) were swimming only in the jacuzzi. The food was average for this price. The receptionist and other staff were friendly.

    Clean and convenient

We stayed for 1 week on Half board basis during a ski trip. The location was good being central to everything, and a short stroll to the slopes. Our room was adequate (room 17 on ground floor- basically behind reception) the beds were fairly comfortable with clean sheets, but the sofa bed for our son was very hard and creaky/noisy. The bathroom was clean but the shower leaked every time we used it, which resulted in a puddle on the tiled floor. The room also provided a tv, mini fridge, tea/coffee facilities and a desk. There was plenty of clothing storage, but nowhere to dry wet ski clothes which was an issue on the days it snowed and we got soaked through. Previous ski resorts have had a drying cupboard to dry clothes out at the end of the day. The curtains arent blackout, so expect daylight by 6.30am. When we arrived we hoped for a room on the back of the hotel which look towards the slopes. We asked for a room change but was told they were full. Breakfast was pretty good, but the same most days with the same fruit etc. Perfectly adequate to set you up for the day ahead though. Fruit juice was good and a lovely view of the mountains from the restaurant. As we had gone half board we also had evening meal included. The food was ok, not bad, not amazing either. Very restrictive with choices, but what was available was ok. What we were disappointed with was having to purchase any kind of drink, even water, to accompany your evening meal. Drinks were expensive, so we decided by the time wed paid for drinks in the hotel, we could eat out with wine and soft drinks for not much more. The local restaurants were very good value and good food too, so we ate out a few times. If we went back to any hotel we wouldnt bother with HB option again. The lady who cleared the tables in the restaurant was lovely though, always smiling and a credit to the hotel. The main disappointment for us was some of the reception staff who were rude and not very proactive. Ie... having picked up our ski equipment from the hire shop we walked into the hotel to ask where the store room was... the lady on reception told us in the basement. When we got down there, we realised we needed a key for a locker, where do you get them??? you guessed it... reception! So had to trek back up to get a key, surely common sense would tell you to explain this before people go downstairs carrying skis boots etc??? Just not helpful at all. The last issue we had in the hotel was noise in the early hours. Not necessarily the hotels fault, but should be controlled by management. Other guests would be shouting/arguing in the corridor outside our door at all hours 2/3am for over an hour, waking us and our young child. This happened for 3 nights out of 7! No one from the hotel made any effort to stop this behaviour, which considering our location so close to the reception desk was disappointing. Lack of sleep is not fun, and the main reason we would choose a smaller chalet/apartment type accommodation next time. We used the pool at the Ramada resort, which was good. Clean, good changing facilities. Just take your room key to zap yourselves in, they may try to charge you, just tell them youre at the other Ramada and let yourself in. The pool isnt that warm, but the kids enjoy it. However the whirlpool is warmer and a welcome relax at the end of a days skiing. Overall, i would give it 3 1/2 stars if I could. Its in a good spot, but needs better staff and some upgrades to restaurant and rooms to make it the 4 stars it is advertising. Kranjska Gora itself is stunning, and well worth a visit, there are many other accommodation options to consider though.
