  Buffet breakfast is good value

  They upgraded us to a double bed from single bed booking. The WiFi worked excellent in the restaurant however did not work inside our room. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom had plenty of space and included a rain shower. The sink mirror was positioned low which makes it difficult for tall people to shave. There was a large mirror for putting on makeup or getting ready set up next to the bed. Talkoo has a nice breakfast buffet set up which includes toast, ready made eggs, fried rice, rice soup, watermelon, punch, and coffee from the pot. The breakfast room is new and has an excellent view of the ocean. They also have a small pool.

  Cosy & relaxing

  This place was lovey. Nice rustic log cabin type private bungalows. Like having your own place. Breakfast was ok and included, we had a room for 950 baht per night which was very reasonable. Pool was lovely and right on the beach too. If you walk along the beach to the right you can eat for a bit cheaper. Staff friendly and girl on reception very helpful with travel arrangements. Free water daily, overall very good. Would come back. Only bad thing is that cleaners were a bit loud in the morning having a giggle which woke us both mornings. But at least they are happy.

  Avoid at all cost

  Spent one night recently (Apr 18). First room allocated the toilet didn't work and the bathroom smelt of stale urine. The second room wasn't much better, with the bathroom again smelling and the standard of cleanliness disgraceful. The attitude of staff was couldn't care less, the waitress at breakfast was surly and the breakfast was crap. I had been in Thailand 14 days prior to this dismal experience, eaten in numerous restaurants, Thai eateries and even food carts without any ill effects. Within 1 hour of eating breakfast I was confined to the toilet - avoid this place at all costs - There are far better resorts in the area - This one is way past it's use by date.

  Noisy and a little run down, avoid weekends.

  Stayed here before and thought we'd stay again which turned out to be a bad idea. Booking via Agoda does not mention that some rooms are actually outside the resort and across the road so read the small print. The room itself was pretty run down, the hot water was cold, bathroom a mozzie farm, the TV had one channel, the fridge did not work, here was no wifi, and only single beds. The weekend local crowds were there having a karaoke party on the beach, they came back late at night making a lot of noise. The hotel allows many to stay in one room so this place is noisy to say the least. Would not recommend.

  You get what you pay for

  Really looking forward to a few days 'away' on the mainland at Khanom and this place sounded like good value. The initial aspect is very good, and while the cottages are somewhat 'tired' that is easily made up for with good atmosphere, facilities etc. Or maybe not. The meals were slow to arrive, and not that well presented. The approach to the bistro was (typically) tiled but using extremely slippery tiles - not good in a situation where the pool is immediately adjacent. The pool, while right next to the beach as well, was heavily chlorinated, the ladder did not have steps, and the pool lights didn't work The access paths were constructed of broken bricks (quite arty) except the razor sharp protruberances were a concern for the kids and also for the tyres on the car. I almost feel like I'm betraying something here, because it's so close to being very good - but not yet. You get what you pay for...
