Perfect HotelIve stayed here quite a few times in the last 15 months. The staff is very friendly. The rooms are well kept. Breakfast is made for you. Toiletries are outstanding. Definitely a go to place for me rather than an expensive hotel in London!

Brilliant value for moneyAn utter gem, comfortable and stylish environment. Highlights were freshly cooked breakfast, comfy bed, fab toiletries and very quiet. Dont think value for money compromises quality in any way, it doesnt.

Overnight staySaturday night overnight stay in a twin room. Hard to find from high street on arrival in evening. Pleasant and friendly check-in. Slightly odd arrangement of some rooms out onto a walkway. Not sure if just Saturday but lots of noise, comings and going, car alarms, banging doors. Room ok. Reasonably small twin room. Tiny pillows and no headboard on smallish twin single beds. LCD TV wall screen quite small. Nice breakfast and efficient checkout (though always think 11am too early) Probably reasonable value but as I ultimately didn't sleep well and noisy would probably need to think before using again.

Weekend stayWe stayed here as a friends having a birthday party. The room was good, it had all the usual amenities. Sadly the bedside lamps didnt work. Maybe new bulbs were needed. We enjoyed the breakfast. Price was reasonable too.

A very enjoyable stayWe stayed for one Saturday night in September, having booked over 9 months in advance in order to visit an elderly relative who lived nearby. The hotel is situated just off the High Street, sandwiched between M & S food store and Waitrose, not easy to spot from a car. The entrance for cars is off a car park behind M & S. There is a pedestrian entrance from the High Street. The hotel had literally re-opened that day after lockdown. There was hand sanitiser in the reception area. We had a pleasant room on the first floor of the main (older) building, a bigger room than some we were told. It was clean and nicely furnished with modern carpet and furniture, although it had a bit of a fusty smell, particularly the wardrobe. Maybe because it is an old building and had been closed up for several months? There was not much milk and only 1 packet of biscuits on the tea tray, but I guess we could have asked for more. The bed was quite comfortable, the bedding was nice quality. The bathroom was LOVELY with nice soft towels and quality complimentary products. It took us a while to get the air con sorted as it was a very warm night, and it was a little noisy. We overlooked the courtyard but it was quiet. The window frames were a bit old and shabby looking and some paint was missing off the wall by the window. You would have thought that lockdown would have been the ideal opportunity for some minor renovation/touching up. We had an evening meal at the Giggling Squid Thai restaurant next door which was excellent. We had to book our breakfast time to maintain social distancing. There was an open plan breakfast room downstairs. We helped ourselves to orange juice, cereal and beverages. The chef was busy on his phone when we entered so I hope he washed his hands before cooking our breakfast (sorry, I work for the NHS and am aware how many germs there are on mobile phones)! We both had a full English breakfast which was excellent. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Penny Farthing and would stay again.
