  Problematic.

  I would love to give this Inn a good rating because we actually enjoyed staying there, BUT we had a problem. I paid for our room when I booked it in January for a stay in October. When we got there I was asked for my credit card to pay for the room. I said I had already paid but was told no. So I gave her my credit card as we obviously needed to stay there. Well, as it played out, I paid twice. Upon returning home and getting my credit card bill I called about 10 times, never getting an answer. I left 3 voicemails. I sent an email. I NEVER got a response so I had to contact my credit card company. NOT a very good way to do business. If they would have only returned my call I would not have been writing a poor review.

  perfect summer retreat

  i'm not normally a review-writer, but our experience at atlantic birches inn at the end of summer 2019 was so stellar i felt compelled share our compliments. nancy is the consummate hostess who puts heart and soul into her family business. she always had a smile and polite conversation to greet us, a 100% homemade breakfast every morning, helpful recommendations to local attractions and restaurants, and a beautifully well-kept inn. our room was perfectly comfortable, the location perfectly convenient, and the pool was the perfect amenity for our eight-year old daughter. in fact, before we even checked out she was already making plans for us to visit again next year, and the next year, and the next year...

  Outstanding Stay

  What an amazing couple of nights we had at Atlantic Birches! The hostess was so sweet and welcoming. She was knowledgeable about restaurants we may enjoy even during this COVID-19 time of limited service in some places. This bed and breakfast was inviting, well kept and carefully maintained during this time. Our morning coffee and homemade breakfast started the days on the right foot. We were in walking distance from the OOB Pier and the pool kept us cool on a really hot humid day. There were several areas to sit outside and read quietly. We will definitely be scheduling another stay.

  Owner is amazing and location is PERFECT!

  My family and I stayed here for two nights. I cannot tell you how accommodating Carolyn and her daughter were. We stayed in The Velvet room. The only minor inconvenience was the bathroom being down the hallway and having to walk the kids there in the middle of the night, but we did book last minute and it was the last room. My husband and I didn't mind at all, just with the kids it was a little of a pain. The hospitality and cleanliness made this a minor inconvenience. We would take it any time since our visit was extremely enjoyable. The location could not have been better. You are not stuck in the middle of the hustle and bustle, the train cannot be heard from the room, the walk to Old Orchard Beach Pier was a half a mile. It did not feel like it though because not even 100 feet from the hotel is the main strip in Old Orchard beach. Plenty of stores to shop at and places to eat. It made the walk to the beach seem much shorter. We used the pool here and it was perfectly clean. Coffee and tea was available in the early morning prior to breakfast. Kids were up at 6:30 and breakfast wasn't until 8:30. Having the coffee available before breakfast was the best thing I could ask for. Haha! My family and I would definitely stay here again.

  WOW - SUCH A GEM OF A B&B!!!!

  We had an AMAZING experience at the Atlantic Birches Inn B&B this past week. We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this wonderful inn if you are traveling to Old Orchard Beach. Our room looked just like the pictures from their website - VERY clean and so cozy. The bed was comfy and the water pressure was GREAT! Breakfast surpassed all expectations (See photos). It's located a perfect distance from the beach and within minutes of some super yummy and inexpensive restaurants and bars. Now, to the best part!!! Owners, Nancy & Steve are SO personable yet extremely professional. My husband and I considered ourselves lucky as the Inn was slow which allowed for some great conversations on the front porch with them. I cannot speak highly enough of this B&B and the lovely couple that run it. We look forward to another stay in 2021.
