Precious memories in a special place!

We rented the whole Homestead Lodge and it accomodated 11 adults and one child magnificently. With two kitchens and 6 bathrooms, it was very comfortable. The land is spacious and we even had a family reunion where over 50 of us gathered for an amazing evening. The beds were comfortable and everything we needed was there for us. They make it easy to arrive and very easy to check out. The hot tub was clean and ready for us. Everything was in a word, perfect! Doug, Gloria, were always available for any questions we might have and helpful in letting us know the best places to visit in the area. Their co-workers Larry, Rob, and Bonnie were also very helpful and fun. We made a memory at that place that we will never forget. It is a blessed land and all who have the opportunity to experience it, will know what I mean. Thank you Doug, Gloria, and Larry., Rob, and Bonnie for making this an amazing experience.

    All around bad experience

Generally speaking, the location is nothing special, the place is dated, the carpets were dirty, the blinds in the bedroom were broken with no way to close the drapes for privacy, could not get wifi to work, and the water smelled so bad that my daughter came out of the shower smelling like sulfer. I also overheard one of the owners telling a friend that she had somehow rigged the electricity to the hot tub. Not very comforting! My daughter and I happenned to stay during the ellipse because it just so happened to be the timing of her start of a hike on the Pacific Coast Trail. Rates were ridiculous everywhere including here. I spoke with the innkeepers several times before our arrival to clarify some small things and each time they implied that they should be charging me more. Like so many inn owners and land owners in the path of the eclipse they were hoping to benefit significantly financially by charging people to camp on their property and or stay in any facilities at hand. It turns out they had set up a concert stage and we're providing beer and mixed drinks and charging the locals to come for a little party the night before the eclipse, the first night we were there. In addition, although I paid for a bed-and-breakfast, I was told I would be given a voucher to the food truck instead, but when I asked the owners what time it would be serving breakfast I was told they didn't know. We were residing in the queen suite on the first floor of the house. In the beginning of the evening numerous people walked into our suite to use our bathroom. Because we did not expect this I was caught once changing clothes and once in the bathroom, and my daughter was too. I even heard one of the owners tell someone to go ahead and use our bathroom. I complained twice before they made an announcement to the crowd not to use our bathroom. After that point we were treated rudely by everybody. I could go on and on but suffice it to say I refused to stay a second night. When I got up in the morning the coffee pot was not ready to go as I was promised it would be and I had a wait for the owner to get up to start the pot. They did give me my money back for the second night and did apologize although they said they still didn't understand why I was upset.

    Nice location, attractive room

DiamondStone is just outside La Pine, and as La Pine is nothing special, we liked the location near the Little Deschutes River. The cabin feels like an airbnb--an add on the the property to bring in income with two rental rooms. That said, the room we had was large, the furnishings attractive (rustic), and the bed great. The bathroom is large, with a super-high tech shower stall with panels of gleaming lights and multiple nozzles (looks like a space ship) that we found fairly incomprensible. Odd. With no breakfast included, this seemed a little overpriced, but it was certainly pleasant, and the owners very nice.

Great location, convenient and comfortable accommodations

We recently stayed at the DiamondStone Guest Lodge for 3 nights while visiting Bend, the Newberry Volcanic National Monument and Crater Lake. It is very conveniently located to visit all of these wonderful places. The room was clean andcomfortable' and both Doug and Gloria were very accommodating hosts. We would definitely recommend this lodge when you are visiting Central Oregon.
