  Good experience at Shanyrak on Abaya in Astana

  Not very luxury furnished but a very clean hotel situated on one of the central streets in the "old" part of Astana. The "Lux Comfort" room is spacious enough for 3. The personnel is very polite and helpful. For the given location and the level of cleanliness, the price is great. I fully recommend this place!

  Nice enough B&B but in a rundown part of the city

  Firstly let me start by saying this place is really affordable in an expensive city, the hotel/B&B is only a couple of years old and therefore the rooms are in a good condition. Ideally to stay here you need to be able to drive, or take taxis everywhere. To walk to the main tourists sites of Bayterek Tower and Khan Shatyr is approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours!! Walking along the river was perfectly fine, however if you walk along Abay Ave or into the old parts of the city I personally didn't feel safe or very comfortable. Breakfast wasn't up to much, stale pancakes, heavily salted eggs and a tiny piece of bread was what I was offered with 1 cup of tea that I wasn't allowed to make myself. I personally wouldn't stay here again just because of the location, however the family did their best but it isn't the best place for a tourist as they provided me with no information and only 1 person could speak English so at times communications were quite difficult.

  Clean place

  Good rooms for the price, but a bit far away from the center. Service don't speak lots of English but they could order a taxi after insisting and repeating a little bit, also room was clean and they have got international channels in the room. Right place to visit the city for a weekend or bit more

  Distant location and limited breakfast, the rest is great

  The staff is helpful, the rooms are nice, the shower had a strange pattern of turning cold all of a sudden, so be aware. Breakfast is only limited to 2 choices of scrambled eggs with sausages and porridge, but you can travel to downtown and get yourself some groceries to put in the fridge, if you're not happy with it. Virtually no places to eat nearby except to get a quick snack from a nearby gas station or walk further to Burger King. Location is far from downtown so you would use taxi or public transportation to go to places, so calculate this into your costs as well.

  Reasonable Place

  We stayed for two nights because the photos looked ok and the price was quite good. The rooms are ok, definitely nothing special. They had clearly made an effort to clean before we arrived but attention to detail could have been better. Things like mopping the floor but not vacuuming the rug and leaving the last guests bar of soap in the shower could be improved on.
