  Very good place to stay !

  This hotel was very clean and updated. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Great location with ability to walk within minutes to the beach, restaurants, shopping and night life. An easy 30 minute ride to Savannah. Would definitely stay again.

  Friendly staff and comfortable accommodations

  We spent a couple nights here on an abbreviated trip to Tybee (unfortunately cut short due to poor weather coming in) during Christmas week. The rooms were very comfortable and clean, recently renovated and well equipped. This was our first visit to a location without carpeting anywhere in the facility, but we both really enjoyed it. I wasn't sure about having nothing to soak up the sound, but my concerns were unjustified. The king-size bed was very comfortable and clean with plenty of pillows, and the bathrooms are unmatched by any place we've stayed at in the past at this price point. The location of the hotel is great, too! It's about one block to a shopping district with bars, souvenir shops, and a few small locally owned restaurants. It's also one block to the beach, the pier, and the marine science center. In other words, very walkable if you want to park at the hotel and still be able to do things. We will certainly stay again on future visits.

  Great example of a proper renovation of an 'older' motel..

  We were really impressed with the renovation of the Admiral Inn and would definitely recommend for post-COVID travel. However, except for 1 staff member, ALL the staff either failed to wear masks properly or just didn't even bother to try. The lone exception was the African American lady who checked us in. Big thanks to her. Regarding the hotel, the renovated room was well done. Tasteful colors, plenty of electrical/USB outlets. Bathroom was well done. The waterfall shower didn't work well, seemed to always drizzle when the valve was switched to the wand. I believe this is due to the water pressure not being quite enough to seal the valve. A limitation of the general water system, but otherwise shower was great. Main hall was tile, which I believe could transmit extra sound in the peak season, but being so close to the beach, I think this is a wise flooring to pick. Hotel has applied tasteful fabric wall hangings in hall to help absorb some of the sound.

  Covid risk

  We enjoyed the location and the room but felt very uncomfortable with the lack of covid precautions. None of the staff we interacted with were wearing masks, nor was there a plexiglass shield at the check in desk. There was a sign telling people not to enter the hotel if they were ill with covid, but guests werent encouraged to wear masks, so most werent. Other hotels Ive stayed in recently have been very conscientious about safeguarding the health of their guests and staff, so the Admiral was very disappointing. The only acknowledgment of the pandemic was no free breakfast, not even a sack one to go.

  Parking could be an issue if it is fully booked

  We have found everywhere in Tuber island that parking is a hassle. Come to this hotel early to find great parking spot. The king size bed is comfortable. Pillows were in good numbers in the room with good cleaning
