    Best Hotel in Akçakoca

Right on the beach.10 minutes walking by the seaside to the city center Outdoor and indoor pools. Nice view of the sea from the seaside rooms (most of them). Suitable for families with small children. Excellent restaurant, good food and good breakfast. The rooms are large and well furnished. Free parking in front of the hotel. The kindness of the hotel staff are exceptional. You should also consider this hotel if you come to Akçakoca off-season when prices are much lower and the city is less crowded. I also recommend that you make your reservation through the hotel directly to benefit from promotional deals during the off-season months.

Nice hotel with some not-so-minor issues

We visited Hotel Akçakoca for a week-long stay with some friends. This was the second time we stayed at this hotel and this experience was not quite as good as the first, but still very positive. The best points about this hotel are the very friendly staff, who though young were willing to please and the good kitchen. While breakfast was pretty boring (a few hot entrees that I didn't enjoy and otherwise mostly a classic Turkish continental breakfast), the evening meals were well-done with a very good mix of traditional Turkish and western-style foods. The desserts were wonderful, again a major mix of traditional and western foods. It being Ramadan, we were treated to some more unusual desserts, which the chef and his team cooked to perfection. The pool was nice and well-kept, there was a nice playground for the kids. Towels for the pool and beach were provided at the pool bar. The beach wasn't bad, either, if you like that sort of thing and my wife enjoyed the ability to play beach volleyball on their well-kept court. The hotel overall has a pleasant appearance and is kept up quite well. There is a game room with Foosball and ping pong, as well as billiard tables and a separate play room for children in case it rains. There is also a Turkish bath, steam room and sauna, which we did not avail ourselves of, so we cannot really comment on it. That being said, the wifi at the hotel was quite good (though a little weak in the rooms) and they also provide to dedicated Internet terminals in the lobby for those who prefer to not use their own devices. The boardwalk that runs between the beach and the hotel is great for an afternoon or evening stroll and the hotel is near to a grocery store, though the amenities provided at the hotel make a visit rather unnecessary (unless there are certain snacks you like). That being said, there were some things that were not so good. The beds were not the most comfortable, though the junior suite we used was quite nice. There were one or two repairs that needed to be done and these were completed with alacrity. However, we weren't really able to get our room cleaned regularly and as the week wore on the room service became more and more slovenly, to the point that on the last day no beds were made, the floors were not swept and the bathroom was not cleaned and all we got was clean towels. Also, while we had air conditioning (a must at the Black Sea during the summer as it is VERY humid), the air conditioning in several of our friends' rooms was out and by the last day ours had died, as well. The manager told me that the central unit itself was broken and would be repaired presently. We left before this came to pass as our stay was up. All-in-all this is a good hotel to stay at. There are very few on staff who speak English, as Akçakoca is mostly a Turkish tourist town, but they are the best part of this quite nice hotel. It is because of the cleaning staff and the air conditioning break down that I am unable to give more that four dots.

    Beautiful setting with exceptional staff

Recently enjoyed a week-long stay with a group of friends; many of us were visiting Turkey for the first time. The setting for this hotel couldn't be more picturesque and we enjoyed our stay greatly, with a few minor issues. The reception and restaurant staff are exceptional. They model Turkish hospitality at its best and were so very kind and patient with the many children in our group. There were a few teens on staff who were learning English and willingly served as interpreters with other staff members when needed. Housekeeping staff wasn't quite as diligent with the details and service dropped off toward the end of our stay so we had to call down to request towels and got toilet paper from the public bathrooms or friends. Our package included 3 meals a day at the buffet-style restaurant. There were always so very many options and we enjoyed trying a variety of Turkish dishes, as well as some western entrees like spaghetti and chicken nuggets (especially enjoyed by the kids). The kitchen and wait staff could not have been more attentive. The pool and beach area were well-maintained, as was the grassy area with hammocks and large pillows for lounging in the shade. There is also a nice playground area onsite, as well as an indoor playroom for little ones and a game room and pool tables. The beach "road" outside the back gate is a lovely stroll and a short walk takes you to local restaurants and shops. A few tips: * If you are assigned a room that does not have working AC, ask to be relocated. It seems that this is a regular problem, according to some who had stayed there the previous summer as well. (The AC went out completely the last day of our stay due to a failed main pump, but thankfully there was a nice breeze from the Black Sea that night.) * Foreign travelers, store your passports in the safe in your room; they are not stored in a secure area at the hotel desk. In fact, when we requested our passports, the desk clerk reached into a slot in front of her and handed 2 to us, not even checking that they were the correct ones. * During the day, close the drapes when the sun is directly coming in the windows. Then, at night, open up the balcony door and any windows to take advantage of the breeze. * Request an extra room key so you can leave one in the electricity slot to keep the AC running if needed during the day. (Or try one of your frequent-shopper cards to see if that will work...) * The wifi is divided into zones, so make sure you are connected to the best one for your floor. (It can be spotty in the rooms, so you might need to step into the hallway to connect.) We found the wifi on the lowest floor (-1) to be the strongest signal, but you will have to ask for the separate password for that location. I hope that you enjoy your stay as much as we did. I would love to return again someday.

    MUST READ THIS REVIEW!!!!!!!!!!

Could easily say this is one of the best hotels I have ever been to in my entire life even though I'm only 17 (I go to a lot of hotels) Me and two friends arrived with a car that we could park in front of the hotel inside which was great. As we arrived at late night all the lights were on and looked amazing!! A young boy came to collect our many luggages even though we stayed 1 day lol :) That was very helpful and the boy took us to our rooms after we made our payment (a bit pricey). The lift was great and up to standard!! The hallways were luxury with soft music in the background. I shared a room with a friend (two single beds) (4th floor). The room was EXTREMLEY CLEAN. All the furniture was new and amazing. The energy in the room was fantastic with no blockages in feeling when moving around. The beds were sooo comfortable with clean sheets + they gave two big and small new white towels each bed. There was a desk in the room with also air conditioning which helped out a lot. The bathroom was great! The shower was especially the best, easy to take a warm quick shower. Very clean also. There was a balcony overlooking a maintained pool with music and also THE SEA!! I have put a picture below my review showing the view from my balcony. A negative part of my experience is that it states it has a gym, sauna, turkish suana, indoor pool, jazzuzi etc.... but none of it is used and is in one corner in the hotel located on floor -1. One floor below FLOOR 1. It was quite isolated from everything else. I guess you dont use those in Summer, but still i was excited for those facilities and got very disapointed. Also staff was very welcoming and friendly. I would DEFINITLEY RECCOMEND THIS HOTEL FOR NEW COMERS AND IS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE !! (9.7/10)
