  Perfecto!

  El establecimiento tiene una ubicación privilegiada que le confiere una hermosa vista, las habitaciones son cómodas, la comida del restaurante es excelente y el equipo humano es muy atento y agradable. Este hote no sólo debe tomarse como un alojamiento sino como un sitio para disfrutar en sí mismo. Se recomienda tener auto para movilizarse; es muy buena la opción de media pensión que ofrece el establecimiento por calidad, precio y porque está alejado del centro.

  Relax en pareja

  Muy buena opción para desconectar y relajarse en pareja. Es un hotel situado a pocos kilómetros de Orvieto aunque algo apartado porque se encuentra en lo alto de la montaña. Ofrece habitaciones al estilo de pequeñas residencias con un ambiente muy acogedor. Dispone de piscina, spa, restaurante y varias zonas comunes tanto en la zona de terraza/jardin como dentro del local a modo de sala de estar. El restaurante ofrece comida local y de su propia producción (es una especie de agroturismo). La relación calidad - precio es buena. Recomendable 100% para fines de semana o vacaciones de desconexion; no tanto si la idea es hacer un tour por la zona, porque, como he dicho, está un tanto alejado.

  A little puzzling on arrival, but this place grew on us

  When we first arrived we were a bit puzzled, as the staff member who showed us to our room didn't really explain how anything worked e.g. eating at the restaurant, towels for the pool, ordering drinks. After a bit of prompting we got everything we needed, but I would say that generally the staff are not very visible here and you have to go and ask for what you want. Once you do, it is never ANY problem and they are delighted to help. e.g. serve drinks, seat you at a table outside for dinner. The towels for the pool have to be rented from the spa and this was frustrating as the only spa staff member was in a treatment for a couple of hours and therefore we couldn't reach her to get our towels. The room in the beautifully renovated farmhouse was large and nicely decorated but quite dark and had one external window with no french doors / balcony etc. Next time I would probably try and book a specific room to ensure a better view or more light. The minibar fridge did not work for some reason and never got fixed. The Relais is connected to a working farm and offers tours of the farm by appointment. Their own wine (three varieties only - red, white, sparkling) is delicious. On our second day we asked if it was possible to eat lunch down by the pool and they produced the most amazing array of antipasti for us, which we devoured with a bottle of sparkling. We ate dinner in their restaurant both nights and this was excellent (reviewed separately). Once we realised this place was quiet and laid-back and needed to be treated like a home from home, we liked it more and more and were quite reluctant to leave. The pool is lovely and has the most AMAZING view over the landscape that you can just sit and watch all day.

  Nice spot, but I don't believe it's worth of money that you pay

  The spot is nice and the view is precious. The staff at the reception is also nice and helping. But the room that we had was very small and uncomfortable. The smell was awfull. Before going to the trip I read about the terrible smell of some rooms at this hotel in someone else's review but I could not believe that it's so much. It was the smell of the cleaning fluids, like they would want to cover some other smell by it. We felt like sleeping in the pot of detergents, it was so strong that I got the strong headache. The day we arrived and when I noticed the smell, I went to the reception and asked for another room. The receptionist was kind and he showed us another room, much better, without the smell, and offered us to stay there for no extra charge. It was very kind but at the end we did not decide as we stayed only one night and we did not want to move all those bags and things. Anyhow, the position of the hotel is nice, breakfast was very average, dinner we did not have there, so I don't know how it is, the pool was ok.

  Delightful hotel located in the hills of Umbria

  A beautiful drive into the vine and olive-covered hills above Orvieto takes you to a charming hotel where one is pampered mercilessly. At first the room appeared a little basic but as we became used to it the spaciousness and comfort became apparent. The supporting service was always excellent and the the quality of food was outstanding and beautifully presented. The menu was the same for all four days, which was disappointing. I would definitely visit again but would explore local food options if staying for more than a few days.
