  You should expect the minimum.

  The property is well located and the rooms are okay. My issue with the stay was the staff and broken ac in our room. I couldnt tell if the staff were unhappy to work there because of the management or because they dont understand customer service. We didnt have working ac in our room. I really, really hate to complain but we couldnt sleep at all. They said they were working on it but nothing was resolved. There was no offer to switch to another room or even some water or breakfast to make up for it. It was the worst experience I had in a hotel and even then Im giving it 2 stars. Im not the person to make a big deal out of situation but that night was very uncomfortable and poorly handled. I ended up checking out early and leaving to another hotel. They said they were going to give me points for the inconvenience and guess what? I never got them. Im not even going to try anymore. I just wont go to that property again and would advise others not to do so. Some hotels make you feel like family. Look for those hotels. This is not the one.

  Decent downtown hotel

  The courtyard Marriott is located in the same building as the residence inn in downtown Phoenix. Fairly close to most downtown activities and a 15 min drive from the airport, not a bad base to explore town (though parking is a pain). The lobby area is nice (though a little bit of remodelling was going on in December), check-in is quick and efficient. Theres a tiny market that had toiletries, food, and drinks if you need them. What I did notice though is the Courtyard seemed to have lower floors then the Residence Inn as I never got above floor 10. Choose the Residence Inn for higher floors and better views. The rooms themselves are comfortable, with a small seating area, room for luggage, decent sized tv, comfortable beds, and dexently sized bathroom. As expected of new hotels, lots of your modern touches such as easily accesible power plugs, usb ports, reading lights, etc. Wi-Fi was good as well Best part of this property is the little rituals bar on the 4th floor. Definitely try it out. Worst part, elevators are overworked in the mornings. Budget extra time. Also, valet parking only, parking downtown is a major pain.

  Above and beyond

  Stayed at the Marriott Courtyard Downtown for three nights in early February. I was very pleased with my stay and will certainly return. First, the location is great! The light rail provides easy access from/to the airport. You are also downtown (many food options, including Frys (a big downtown grocery)). Second, the room is well designed, quiet, and CLEAN. Housekeeping did a nice job each day. And lots of fresh towels! Most importantly, the staff is fantastic! Truly, everyone seems to like their jobs at the hotel. Their energy is infectious. I must give a very special shout out to Amanda Mc, Claudia and Analisa at the lobby bistro bar. This trio is absolutely the sweetest and made me feel like family. I stay at lots of hotels and they stand out above all the rest. When I return to Phoenix, it will be hard to choose another hotel due to the personal touch and level of service. Thank you for making me feel at home.

  Nice hotel.

  Very nice property and great location. Close to everything. But what prompted to write this review is the great quality and SERVICE at the complementary breakfast. The food is great and the ladies there (Elli, Anna, Gizele, Caroline) are so nice and welcoming, even when I showed up 5 minutes before they closed. Waited for me and did not rush me at all, instead they packed me a box of waffles and fruit to take away. Just outstanding service!! Thank you.

  Too good to be a Residence or Courtyard brand

  This is a very sleek, well-maintained, modern downtown hotel. The room was fantastic. The service is friendly. The location is on the very southern edge of downtown Phoenix, so close to the sports venues and the Courthouse. Easy access to get out of downtown.
