  rough place to stay during their renovation

  it was business so I had no choice in hotel. my first room faced the atrium and was subjected to mediocre singing right outside my window for an interminable amount of time. I requested a room change and was told NO. Then the bathtub started leaking and flooded my room, and they miraculously found another room. The bad news was that it had just been remodeled so there was alot of off gassing and the other bad news was that the window wouldn't open. The thermostat was also not accurate so even though I turned it low, it was still over 74 degrees in the room which was too hot. It was not an easy stay.

  The carpet

  I have been staying at The Desmond for years. I love The Desmond. They are associated with Crowne Plaza which is why the decor was changed. The carpet is terrible. I actually thought they had scraped the old carpet up and hadnt replaced it yet. I so miss the old decor. There was a problem with the thermostat we couldnt make it go down below 72° it was very warm. But the new bed was amazing. It was the most comfortable hotel bed I have ever slept in and the view to the courtyard was as amazing as ever. The staff was wonderful as always. The hotel is still under construction so I am going to visit again when its finished.

  Excellent staff!

  Beautifully updated! The new lobby, restaurant and Tavern look amazing and the location is very convenient to the airport. However the staff will always be the reason I choose the Desmond. Dave at the front desk, Sandy at the Tavern and Edie at the restaurant are always so welcoming, friendly and helpful! The staff make every stay special!

  Wonderful

  This was a fantastic stay. Ive been to this hotel a number of times for corporate events, but never overnight. We booked the 2 story suite and it was lovely. The hotel is newly renovated and it shows, very fresh and clean. I admire the attention to detail. The room was more than we were expecting, comfortable and inviting. We had our own patio, which was great since this was the first warm-ish day weve had. Also good for being able to bring our bags directly inside. I love the indoor courtyard with the Koi pond, so cute. The fish are so big! We dined in the restaurant and the food was delicious, we both had the filet and my husband said it was the best steak hes ever had. The server was awesome!! It was an overall great experience, the staff were so friendly at the desk as well at the restaurant. We booked this from a gift card my MIL gave us for Christmas and stayed for my husbands birthday. It really meant a lot to us because we havent been able to get out for much fun the last year.

  Front desk agent was very rude towards me and my son.

  The front desk agent was very rude towards me and my son. When I checked out they did not want to give my cash deposit back saying I paid with card so deposit will return on card.i had to prove that I did not pay with card. And then Finally after a long while I was given my 200$ cash deposit back. They seemed angry about it.
