  A-Ok

  This hotel felt more like a newly renovated Holiday Inn than a Marriott. Overall, everything was decent but I wasn't overly impressed with anything. The staff were fine and the breakfast was delicious. The rooms are pretty basic considering the recent renovations. I stayed for two nights and the 1st night, my room was haphazardly cleaned. A middle of the road, not too expensive option. If you must stay here, you should.

  Nice stay...However

  Was very nice. Great bar and staff was super. Room was nice and clean, however there was some kind of pump behind room wall that sounded like a whirlpool tub going off every 15 minutes. Mad sleeping difficult. Would return but will request room on outside wall

  Nicely Renovated

  So I'm not sure what hotel brand this property used to be - but it's been nicely renovated. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The lobby area is bright - airy and a good place to hang out. It's conveniently located with good amenities. Room was very comfortable. Price was very cheap.

  Lodging in the COVID Age...

  Two night stay breaking up a trip to the OBX. Many changes thanks to COVID. The Gideon Bible and Book of Mormon removed from rooms. The Pantry, which was the concierge lounge shut down as many items offered were unwrapped. The Luminous Bar and Restaurant was Restaurant only with an extremely limited menu, as in only three each appetizers, entrees and desserts offered. And, for those staying multiple nights, no housekeeping. The property seems to handling things okay, but things are not okay. Many team members are not working due to curtailed or restricted services. Social distancing is all but enforced with masks required in public areas of the property. Some guests believe the law and house rules are mere suggestions. Personally, I believe government malfeasance is at play on local and state levels stripping people of freedom and instilling them with fear over a narrative that seems to change by the hour. Media is scaring folks over new cases although the truth of declining hospitalizations and deaths is being squelched. Still, hospitality is the name of the game here at the Delta Hotel, and, in the age of the new abnormal, they're doing it well. Our room was fine. Very comfortable and chillaxing. I will return when business conditions allow me to work in Hampton Roads again.

  Overall great service during a pandemic

  I needed a 2 night pet-friendly stay over Christmas. My room was clean with comfy linens, Netflix connected TV, and a micro fridge to allow me to save money on some food/coffee. I was able to bring my dog (extra fees apply) and we enjoyed a morning walk around the Chesapeake Conference complex. The staff were friendly and wore masks. Amenities, such as the pool and gym were open, by appt only. Bar and food services were limited with the pandemic.
