  Buen hotel para viajes de negocios

  Situado bastante céntrico es un hotel de calidad con habitaciones modernas, y un buen servicio de WiFi sin cargo. Desayuno correcto, y servicio de comedor bastante bueno. El bar algo lúgubre y con muchos fumadores (algo normal en el país por cierto). No hay rampas de acceso aunque tienen personal que ayuda. Buena zona de spa con piscina de buen tamaño.

  Former diplomatic hotel retains quality offerings

  According to our guide this hotel was once the primary accommodation used to host guest dignitaries and diplomats during the Soviet era. The Dostyk Hotel still retains much of the quality afforded these important guests. Rooms and bathrooms are large, clean and well appointed with mini-fridge and bathrobes. The breakfast buffet provides free brewed coffee from a serve-yourself cappuccino coffee maker - a very nice touch,. In many other Central Asian hotels you'll only find instant Nescafe. Also notable is the well appointed gym with quality US-made Precor fitness equipment. The heated indoor swimming pool is kept at a comfortable 28 C (83 F) temperature. By Central Asian standards the Dostyk Hotel merits 5 stars.

  Quiet hotel in a classic building

  Room on the fifth floor provided a nice view of the street below and the Soviet-style surrounding. Central location for a nice walk around the surrounding neighbourhood. Smooth pick-up from and drop-off to ALA airport arranged by the hotel.

  Best hotel experience we had.

  We spent two days at Dostyk Hotel, me, my wife and our 6 months old son. We booked a suit room over booking.com for 1 day and when our flight from Almaty postponed 1 day, we couldn't extend our reservation from booking. We called hotel and they confirmed the extension. When we arrived at hotel, we have been told our room had been upgraded to presidential suit with no extra cost. The room was a 187 m2 suite with a dining, sitting, working lounge, a seperate wardrobe room, a large sleeping room with sitting set up and a huge bathroom with a luxury shower, a big jacuzi with a garden view and a private sauna. We highly enjoyed our private spa both nights we stayed here. Room service was great. While we were ordering the breakfasts, we told them that we will be sleeping when they arrive so they were so quiet that I barely heard them serving the breakfast to our room. My wife slept through both days' services. Meals were tasty. Bar was closed due to pandemic but we passed through it on our way to summer terrace. Bar has a very elegant, wooden interior with a feel of complexity and luxury with perfect lighting, it would be great to hand out here when things get back to normal. We ordered airport transfer to and from hotel, they were right on time without any delays as we ordered. Staff were attentive and kind. The only negative comment I can give is that the minibar in the room was not cooling adequetly, drinks in it were mildly cool, not cold. Other than this everything was perfect.

  Good service and quiet hotel

  This hotel is very well located but at the same time in quiet street. I stayed several times during my short or long trips to Almaty and always found the rooms comfortable and clean. The staff are competent and the food is good.
