  Nice luxury hotel

  The hotel has nice fancy lobby. And the room was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. The location is great which next to a shopping mall, and also next to the culture park which is a great walk morning or night time. Great stay in Tainan city. Its also not far away from High speed rail, not far to Tainan train station and close to the Tainan airport.

  Faded Glory: good and bad sides

  From 21 to 24 Nov 2019 I stayed in this hotel which lies more outside of the center then I thought, I had to take a taxi to the center or another destination every day, which cost around 130-150NT$ (4.25-4.90US$) as there is no Uber in this city. If you arrive from the Tainan HSR train station, as I did its a 350-400NT$ (11.43 - 12.90US$) taxi ride to the hotel, which is quite far from the HSR Station/Tainan Downtown. Going from the HSR Station I took a local train to Tainan Main Station 25NT$ (0.81US$), however this doesnt help a lot as you still need a taxi to the hotel at ~135NT$ (4.41US$). Read more below on the room. The numbers: -Price/Quality: 2** of 5***** expensive for what you get - especially if you have a Sunday incl. like I did; Saturday-Sunday nights are double of a normal night! -Price: $$$$ of $$$$$ -Quality: 3*** of 5 -Service at Reception: 3 1/2*** of 5 -Breakfast: 5***** of 5 excellent and large -Service Overall: 4**** of 5 -Services Offered: 4**** pool spa sauna -Wheelchair Accessible: 5***** Room The room was large, however looking as faded glory, old but comfortable beds, bed linen was too short, only 1 pillow per bed, old furniture overall. I did sleep the best here of my whole trip though... Bathroom The bathroom was okay, it had a nice bath, which was a bit small, but nothing dramatic. The Shower was good with great pressure. The toilet was a typical one with all the gadgets, it didnt flush that powerful at times... leaving stuff behind. The amenities were good, incl. toothbrushes again and toothpaste minis. Breakfast This was the highlight it was lush and grand from Taiwanese Chinese to Asian (Pacific) dishes and more European style breads and pastries. Incl. sushi, soups, multitude of prepared dishes and do it yourself dishes. The coffee was okay, liked the teas better. Plenty for kids too. Here(!) if you come later on a Sunday around 9am there is a big line to wait for breakfast so be aware of that. Pool The pool is outside and with average temperature of 26C outside nice and pleasant. Didnt use the sauna unfortunately, spa treatments are per payment and seemed steep and more European prices. I didnt take any massage for the amount of money they asked. Beware(!) the hotel as mentioned is far away from the center and thus it can be bothersome to stay here if you want to save money/time and want convenience. Not sure on other hotels, most looked grim to me from what I have seen in the city of Tainan. Would I stay here again, also not sure need to research more to see if hotels closer to the city center are any better.

  Great Hotel as always

  It's my second time to stay here. Never disappointed in EVERGREEN Group's Service. Comfortable room as I remembered and Breakfast was amazing as you can have beef soup that one of Tainan foods you have to try when you visited.

  Dated 4-stars hotel. Satisfactory stay. Surprisingly good dinner buffet w/ GIANT Tiger Prawns.

  It's not a new hotel so it's not fancy. Practical. Luxury when it was built. My stay is ok. Nice swimming pool for families. Surprisingly good dinner buffet w/ GIANT Tiger Prawns. Big surprise. Special discount for hotel guests. Highly recommended.
