  Rude hosts, but beautiful views

  Unwelcoming hosts - baffled by the 5 star reviews. For $375 per night, we would definitely stay elsewhere when we return to Highlands. Didn't expect to need reservations for every meal, but there were no dinner slots available, and we were told that they would call to let us know about breakfast. We never heard from anyone. We were kept waiting for over an hour when we arrived too early for check in. Hearing all of the endless rules took another 45 minutes. For every meal, we drove down the mountain and 20 minutes into Highlands. We loved the town. The views were beautiful but everyone in the cabins wanted the 2 red chairs to watch the sunset; which would be an easy fix. The accomodations smelled like mildew, and the one porch chair was dirty and looking like it would fall apart. The cabin was clean, and well stocked with cups, etc. We won't return.

  A Relaxing Retreat!

  My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Fire Mountain. The views are incredible and the accommodations are clean. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. They have additional COVID policies but they were very upfront about them and explained them both in email before checking in and in person, we appreciated the safety measures they took. The owner was very knowledgeable about the area and provided numerous great recommendations on hikes, restaurants, and local attractions. The chef prepared breakfast every morning was delicious too! We will definitely be back in the future!

  Relaxing Getaway

  This place is a great little getaway. The first time finding is a little tricky, but once you have it's easy to get in and out with the landmarks. We stayed in the cabin and brought our dogs. The cabin had bowls ready and sheets for them to be comfortable. That little touch was special. The cabin was small but for the four of us, it was just fine. It snowed while we were there and it was 8 degrees, so we weren't afforded the opportunity to explore the property much but it did seem like there were plenty of activities that would occupy the day. We had a great (really great) breakfast and the staff was so kind and polite. We missed out on the dinner because of issues out of ours and the staff's control which was a bummer because we had read such good things, but oh well. There is no WiFi in the cabin and if you have Verizon the cell service is bad, so it's best to have your trip planned out in advance because it is difficult to look up things to do if you're in for spontaneity. It was great though, to not have the temptation to connect and spend some real quality time. All in all, it was a great place to spend the holidays!

  Best views for a boutique adult mountain top Inn

  Stop scrolling n make a reservation! Breathtaking views from every direction, pristine grounds & the sweetest staff imaginable. Easy peasy check- in, maps provided for local attractions & super clean rooms. Stayed in the Laurel Treehouse which was quant with plenty of outside sitting areas. Breakfast was included with amazing homemade specialties & probably the best views on the property. All Covid rules implemented and being followed. A true adult mountain top getaway.

  Excellent Weekend Away

  I have stayed with this property multiple times over the last few years. The Inn is welcoming and inviting, the decor is charming and the accommodations are comfortable. The owners are just as charming and kind as you would expect from any southerner. The food they serve for breakfast is exquisite and they are incredibly helpful when it comes to planning your stay and activities. When you stay, it seems as if time stands still. You can leave rejuvenated and relaxed from a quiet time away. This is not some cutting edge modern Inn with blazing fast WiFi and technology, this is a place where you go to relax and wind down from the world. I would highly encourage you to give this property a try if that is what you're looking for.
