  Excellent service, price, and location

  Incredibly family-friendly (they have a playground in the backyard with a swingset, trampoline, etc.). You feel very welcome with kids. The breakfast is delicious, with homemade jam, etc. It's a very warm, welcoming place. And amazing value for the price. Fun hikes and kids' play area in the summer - with bumper boats, mini cars, etc. Skiing right at your doorstep in the winter (although we only stayed there in the summer).

  Fantastic price and location!

  We stayed here in the middle of August so this is a late review but have only just got round to it. This is a family run hotel with a great location, it is close to a lot of attractions like Liechhtensteinklamm which is only a 10 minute drive away or many other places. The cable car nearby takes you up to the top of the mountain and there are some great hiking trails there. We only had breakfast included in our package as we went during the summer, but this was amazing. They had freshly made bread every morning, with home made jam and cakes. For dinner we went to the restaurant nearby where they offer a 3 course meal for guests staying at this hotel, or you can just choose something off their normal menu. The meals are large and very well priced for what you get. The rooms and hotel are clean with a very friendly atmosphere, the family are willing to answer any of your questions and will give you advice on where to go around the area if you ask them.

  First I came for dinner, then I came to stay

  I have been here for dinner before but when my dad asked if I would come skiing with him, he chose the Forsthof as he had been here many times before. This time we have a lovely apartment but the most notable feature is the family who run Forsthof. Their ability to discern, and meet , the needs of their clients is fabulous. That is achieved by actually getting to know people a little. Taking the time to find out what would make a good holiday. And of course different people need different things. As a clue for the fabulousness of this place, I am here because me daughter, as a ski rep, rated it and recommended it, and on this visit I have come across another rep who has brought his family here. The reps get to see loads of places , and this is the one they bring their family to.

  Family Ski Visit

  The hostess , Eva, is a super example of all that is good about Austrian Gemütlichkeit. So the welcome, attention to detail and feel of the place was right from the start. Skiers can walk to the nearest lift in 2 minutes. The food is wholesome ,typical Austrian and honest. Breakfast is a huge buffet and goes on until 10.Having been in several Pension in the area, I will say that Forsthof is the best for access to the piste. It as a beautiful place and well worth the price paid. Super value and a wonderful week. Many thanks.

  Ok stay

  Pro's Close to the Alpen Aria Bike trail. Big balcony Great view. Must be close to ski area's Bed and bedding were good. Dinner at Oberforsthof next door was excellent. Con's Nobody at the reception. Only the key to our room. We had to wait for quite a while before somebody came to help us park our bicyles. The promised closed room for them did not exist, so we ended up carrying our bikes + luggage to the first floor. Sliding door for shower and toilet did not work. Room is filled with furniture, not sure how this would work in winter when you have lots of stuff with you. Not much space to hang your things / wet towels Breakfast was ok, but not for the price paid.
