    Pest issues

    To begin with my 1st visit with this hotel was awesome had no issues at all! The staff is awesome & friendly. The food & drinks were great! In fact this vist was so great my family & I stay five nights! However the following weekend I went back & everything wasn't so great! After being up for 48 hours I just knew this was the best hotel to go to on last minute notice. So I didn't brother to check the beds, etc..1st night there was a bug on my son pillow! The staff was awesome about accommodating my family for the issue & I was moved to another room! The lights was on so I assume someone check the room before sending me in!after we took another shower and was ready to go to bed , there was another bug on my bed& blood at the bottom of the comforter which they took really tight,so it wasn't until I pull all the sheets off that this was seen! No I didn't bother saying anything because I felt they would think I was the issue or trying to get a free night! But after saying 8 nights at this hotel. The pest issues are terrible outside!! Huge caterpillars,right in front of the door& entrance way! Mosquitoes& ants!

    AN AMAZING STAY AS WELL AS A FANTASTIC STAFF...

    I recently stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Birmingham-Homewood and I must say: This was truly an amazing stay.  As I arrived at the property, I immediately noticed the impeccable upkeep of the hotel's exterior.  The grounds were beautifully decorated with greenery.  During my entire stay(on a daily basis)I saw a grounds person cleaning and picking up outside.  As I entered the property, I was greeted by two of the most wonderful ladies, Ms. Diane and Louise.  These two women were a true blessing to me on this stay.  I arrived a little early for check-in and they allowed me to get into my room once it was cleaned. I rented a King bed room, but what I got surpassed my expectations.  The room was big and I mean HUGEEEE.  The room was tastefully decorated, giving a very classic-modern feel.  The room had an updated microwave and mini fridge.  The restroom is a gleaming white with modern fixtures as well.  The bed was super comfortable and the linen smelled fresh(FYI: I've stayed at other top hotel chain properties, and some of the beds have had a stale smell). Overall, the room was a great space whether you were here for work/business purposes or a last minute getaway.    Getting back to the staff:  Everytime that I entered or exited the property, there was some sort of interaction between myself and many of the staff members.  From a simple greeting to an inquiry about a need, the staff here was amazing.  Louise and Ms. Diane seemed to be working all the time(lol), and their presence made my stay even more enjoyable.  From the hotel happy hour event to the random encounters; again THE STAFF WAS AMAZING.  I'm not sure of who from the Sheraton/Marriott family will review this, but I think the staff of this property needs to be acknowledged in some way, form or fashion(ESPECIALLY LOUISE AND MS.DIANE).  I travel very often for work and I stay in many hotels.  This experience has been one of the most pleasant and relaxing times that I've ever had.  Please accept this review as just a small mention to the greatness  in which this hotel is.  I look forward to staying here again(I will actually be back in 2 weeks).  I've seen some of the past reviews and most weren't the best. I can say that my experience has been one to remember. I would recommend this property to friends ,family members and work colleagues. Thank you again for your superior service and excellent customer care.

    Relocating

    I spent by the past few days in Birmingham to retrieve my furniture out of storage. I decided to try the Four Points due to easy access off of the interstate and location closest to my unit. For the value this was one of the best hospitality experiences Ive encountered in a very long time, even through a pandemic. Each of the staff members from the front desk, housekeeping, maintenance and food and beverage consistently greeted me with a welcome, they were engaged with out guests to as well. The restaurant manager was very attentive to my needs, I didnt most of meals at the hotel. Everything from breakfast to dinner was very well done. This hotel is truly a gem in Birmingham. If your looking for exceptional guest service, stay at this hotel! The General Manager is obviously doing something right. Kudos to you!!

    Telling it like it is.

    Arrived at the property past midnight after driving through the remnants of a Hurricane for the 3 previous hours for a 1 night stay. When telling the lady at the front desk we had a reservation she already had my folio next to her. After confirming my name she then stated "Nice of you to join us tonight". Maybe this was an attempt at a light hearted joke but seeing absolutely no smile on her face and the way she said, it rubbed me the wrong way. Having my folio already out you would think the process of checking in would be even quicker than normal. Most check-ins, unless the property is really busy, take about 2 minutes. After about 5 minutes of her clicking away on her keyboard, without speaking to me at all, she finally asked for my ID and CC. After that we were handed our room key, again with none of the usual "this is your room number, the elevator is over there, have a good night". None of that. No biggie but something nagged me in the bag of my mind about that interaction. We stay the night, property was just fine, and check out the next morning. I check my CC statement the next day and see that my $79 room charge went through. Two days later I notice an additional charge of $117.50 on my card. Odd but I'm not up in arms. I work in the travel industry and stay at numerous hotels and sometimes there are pending charges, even in multiples, that eventually fall off the CC. Checking a few days later I see that $117 charge actually go through on my CC. So I contact the property and am told that someone from their finance dept. will contact me back. Again, I work in the travel industry and have seen this song and dance dozens of times. So it wasn't a surprise when I never heard from the property. I decide to dispute the charge with my CC company and they give me a temp. credit with notice that the vendor has a chance to dispute it themselves and provide proof of a legitimate charge. After about a month I see the $117 put back on to my CC. My CC company informs me that the property send documentation to them that I stayed in 2 rooms. One room for 1 night and another room for 2 nights. My CC company forwards this documentation to me and it has copies of 2 different folios. The first, the legit one, has my name, address, phone number, etc. on it. The second is under an unknown woman's name, which has no address, phone number, or any thing on it. I was away at the time this information arrived so my wife calls the property again. She is greeted by a very nice and apologetic lady with a promise that a "manager" will be in contact with us ASAP. My poor, innocent, wife believed this statement. I told her that I would put big money on it we wouldn't hear back from anyone and sure enough we haven't. Even reaching out to Marriott's customer care has only resulted in the same BS line of "we are so sorry, we will reach out to the property's finance dept. and someone from our team will be in contact with you within a few days". A few days have turned into several weeks with no results!

    Nice But Did Not Follow Request

    The hotel was nice. I requested on website foam pillows & high floor to which I got neither. Other than that, room was nice. Close to a lot of restaurants. The staff was nice. Morning girl gave me a late check out which was nice.
