  Great stay

  Lovely older Tudor style building. Little outdated needs painting & updating, but lovely & quaint place. Queen Room was small with Private 4 pc bath. Lovely big fluffy towels & face clothes, so great to have a makeup mirror in the bathroom especially for those that wear glasses. Breakfast was simple but nice & hot, coffee was yummy. Staff is friendly & helpful. Nice walking path at edge of property. Lovely gardens

  Charming

  Lovely historic hotel for a great price during COVID-19 restrictions We stayed for 3 nights and had a lovely time and very much enjoyed corner brook. Breakfast was standard but tasty and nice to be included. All staff were polite and helpful, and we look forward to staying again in future.

  What a gem!

  On a recent relocation trip from Toronto to Newfoundland, we came across this gem in Corner Brook. We booked one night because our drive to our final destination was 8 hrs from Port aux Basques, where the ferry stops, and we did not want to do that drive during the dark (Moose are very active at night) so we booked in advance 1 night at this property. Due to the pandemic we were advise we needed to stay in our rooms after check in so we followed the rules and enjoyed a great night sleep, ordered pizza and watched tv. The hotel from the driveway looks stunning, a very lovely old home that resembles a Swiss chalet. The reception area was impressive with much of its original character. We were given a room on the second floor and to my surprise, the hotel had an elevator so travelling with limited mobility is not an issue. The beds were comfortable and the room had more than enough space for all 3 of us. The following morning we went for our hot breakfast in their main dinning room, a grand room with high ceilings you can almost picture yourself attending a formal ball. Even our pet enjoyed her stay (pet friendly hotel) We have a pet chicken and the receptionist was surprised when we told her. Honey ( our hen) stayed inside her cage the whole time. Service was terrific, from our check in to our breakfast, everyone was so personal! I recommend this property 100%

  Great Hotel , Perfect location.

  We stayed here for a night before heading to the Northern Peninsula. We were only a minute or two walk from the hew & draw and a bunch of other restaurants/bars and I woke up early the following morning and enjoyed a beautiful run around pond and trails. We stayed for breakfast which was also fantastic and the service was Great.

  Very poor service

  I am a retired senior in a wheelchair and I like to travel and since Covid-19 Ive had to stay in my home province so Ive been using the steel hotels since they have hotels in the major centres and they have been running some very good specials, one of the perks they offer for bookings through steel hotels is a free breakfast which consists of two eggs, hash browns, toast and a choice of bacon or sausage. So I had the sausage and they were spoiled and I dont like bacon, which I told my waitress and I kindly asked if I could have bologna instead I got my order and the bologna was there so everything was good right wrong as we were leaving the waitress said there would be a small surcharge for the bologna and charged me $4.05 for a slice of bologna after trying to feed me spoiled sausage very poor service for a chain of hotels shame on the management of this establishment
