  Villa 186-4, Jen and Jim Fox

  A big thank you to Jen and Jim for having us stay in their amazing villa situated within the Goldcity Hotel complex. This wonderful villa has been our choice of holiday destination for 4 years now and every time we have had an amazing time. Jen and Jim welcome you into their villa so warmly they accommodate everything you want, leaving a small but more than adequate food and drink package when you arrive and allowing you use of everything in the villa. The villa itself is situated next to a very large private pool, albeit to be used by a number of other villas, but these seldom seem occupied, so leaving a large pool solely for villa 4s use! We return year on year with our large family, if needed Jen can arrange use of another villa in very close proximity, a couple of years ago there were 14 of us between two villas, amazing service, thanks Jen! The villa has use of all the hotels facilities too including a very substantial water park This year we hired a car from Jen which enabled us to visit local towns for their restaurants, since the villa is quite isolated we will be doing this again although there are more than enough taxis willing to accommodate any journey if needed If you are a large family trying to keep costs down a little and dont mind self catering this is a definite must for you!!   A tiny sliver of heaven in our opinion.

  Well this year has been a year of many firsts and different experiences. After a world wide lockdown and different ways of living, I think most of us were in need of a quality holiday. After mulling over options with all the restrictions in place. Will it be statycation or risk going abroad with everchanging rules. We put our trust in Allah and decided to go Turkey and chose Gold City as our resort. Totally feel it was a blessed choice that was guided by Ar Rahman niRaheem. We took the risk and booked individually through websites on our own and got a deal of the century to start with. On Arrival The looming complex on top of a hill did really look majestic. We arrived at this sprawling complex of a grand hotel and surrounding villas and first impressions were spectacular. Due to Covid the complex was pretty empty We were given a pool facing apartment with a superb view of the sea as well. Apartment was Great. Pluses=Bath with a Jacuzzi, WASHING MACHINE,Balcony with superb views. Comfortable beds. Bath was leaking but we reported it and they repaired the issue so all was fine. There are lots of facilities at the hotel. about 5 restaurants, all were closed due to Covid. They had a burger bar on Lower floors, Enjoy Burger semi Gourmet, type burgers for around £4 to £5 pounds with Chips, Absolutely delish and totally reasonable prices for Hotel of this calibre. Loved the burgers here, ordered quite a few... just call us Elvis. They have a cinema, nightclub, spa and massage facilities, Roof top bar and restaurants. Outdoor theatre/entertainment area. For the majority of our stay all of these were closed due to covid. They also had a mini bowling alley(extra cost about £11 for three to play one game. (4 Lanes).Kids room ,billiards/ pool room, fully equipped Gym, pool side snack bar. all of these were open. Further more they have their own water park and mini golf, Free entry for hotel guest, around 10 slides, 2 or 3 non operational. but all the major ones operational. There is an onsite supermarket as well but a bit pricey compared to supermarkets in local area.Once we were settled in we took a cab to the big Migros in Mahutmular Around £5 by taxi to get there and did a big shop there and only used the onsite supermarket to top up essentials and treats for the kids late in the evenings. They have a massive main infinity type pool with a kids pool with slides in the front of the hotel, spent lots of time here. There is also a quieter pool that is shaded for some of the day around another side of the complex. For the 1st week we were there we were one of the few people staying at the complex and had the run of the facilities. Sunbeds always available, pool nigh on empty. I think this actually made the holiday next level extra special as it felt we had the run of the place.A certain feeling of privilege having such immense facilities almost solely for your own use. Most other guest were Turkish I believe. in the last 5 days the tourists started to come, quite a lot of Russians, mainly family and nice happy go lucky types. Sun beds became scarce by the end of the holiday. They started some outdoor entertainment by the pool in the evening in the last week we were there, and opened the buffet restaurant as well. They were also preparing to open some more of the facilities as well. Obviously these are exceptional circumstances and times but with faith and trust in Our Lord. With heavenly blessings and protection this was one of the best family holidays we have ever experienced, Obviously does not compare to Umrah and Hajj but the greatest 2nd best. Gold City Highly recommended even in limited world lockdown. For you believers out there, when we went the local area is not holding any Jummah Salah. For that you will have to make your way to Alanya around 11 kilometres away. My jummah experience deserves a blog of its own.. might even do one. Take care, stay safe people and if you are thinking of going Gold city then trust in Allah and Go. In Sha Allah you to will have the trip of a lifetime.Especially Family we have two kids 5 and 10 they would have been happy just to stay on complex and do what was currently available. but we crammed a little more in going to Alanya.

  Eda in guest services made the whole difference for us as a family. She is resourceful, helpful,kind and caring. There is also another lady (brunette) also very kind albeit doesn't speak English like eda but also helpful. The hotel is average. The cleaning is not good at all. The food at their beach is good in the main hotel not good. The rest of the services is weak. So overall our experience in the hotel is not good and we don't think we would come back. But anywhere eda goes we will follow if we decide to come back to alanya. Thank you eda for making it feel homely. I highly advise the hotel management to leverage such a professional guest relationship lady in attracting foreign tourist.

  Excellent stay at Goldcity

  We stayed for 2 weeks in a villa in Goldcity 185 (18). The villa was great with fabulous views and a large private pool but for my children, their holiday was made by the childrens entertainment crew. They attended the childrens club nearly everyday and took parts in different activities including pizza and biscuit making and they loved winning certificates at the end. They really enjoyed the childrens mini disco and various shows in the evening especially Sammys Africa show (superb!) Thank you Sammy and Hope for making my childrens holidays.   hotel review

  not very clean in my opinion, caters for rude russians so if your english i would avoid. some staff nice but most are just going through the motions. food in main restaurant not that good but pool bar and snack bars outside are fine.
