  Clean, generally nice staff, terrible food

  I stayed here with my husband for three nights and it was just ok. It was not mind blowing or anything but what's important is that the room was clean, the staff were nice (some were not making an effort to be nice but they were not rude... I guess I would describe them as sometimes a bit detached or aloof. My perception is that maybe it was because we didn't speak perfect German and they may have been a bit self conscious about speaking to us in English) The mattresses and pillows on the beds are so uncomfortable... My back and neck ached so much every morning. I really liked that the floors were wood parquet and not carpet. That adds to the cleanliness of the room. In a nutshell, the hotel runs like a factory. The operations are seamless but it lacks a feeling of homeyness and hospitality. The services at the spa were great and the fact that we had full access to the spa along with a half board accommodation included in the price of our stay was great. They always were ready to give us as many bathrobes and towels as we needed, which was nice. My favorite part in the spa was a glass quiet room made for sleeping (they have awesome water beds) and a gorgeous view of the trees in the forest. You are basically in the middle of nature but in a clean and quiet glass box. I LOVED IT. That was my favorite spot :) They also have board games in the lobby, and that was a fun activity for the evening. I have no complaints. Only feedback. The price was right for the quality they offered. It is really a four star hotel... Not one star more or less. Oh... One more comment: the area around the hotel is beautiful and it is worth taking a walk there :)

  Nice pools with hot water and nicer sauna complex!

  We were not accommodated in hotel and enjoyed just heiltherme bad. There several hot water massage pools. Perfect is sauna complex with 11 cabines. You can enjoy every kind of sauna and make your sauna ceremony (ausflug) by yourself. Cooling pool could be colder :-)

  Hot in the room without AC, food so so

  The entire hotel ist extra ordinary clean and the staff is very friendly. We stayed there for two nights in the north wing and had booked half board. Our room was in grand floor and very small with some basic furnitures and no a/c. The night was hot and I couldnt sleep. Regarding the food the breakfast was good but dinner not even average. I was also not able to park my car in the garage due to unavailability and was requested to park in a public open space and unguarded lot down the road. I would not care if I was in a budget B&B but I certainly expect more in a 4 stars Ressort which happens to be the most expensive one in the area. At checkout I was told that they have some rooms with a/c but not all. So if you are going there ask for one with a/c. You also consider the 5 star hotel Steierhof next to them where you pay almost the same money for all inclusive (full board plus drinks) and much better food quality.

  Great facilities and spa

  My friend and I came here for a girls weekend to relax and enjoy some pampering. It met and even exceeded almost all of our expectations. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. You are spoiled for choice when it comes to the variety of the pools and jacuzzis available. We did have a very nice day in the spa as well. Massages and facials were great, and the staff was not pushy when it came to promoting their products like most places are. I did not give this place five stars for three reasons. First, there are designated smoking areas literally everywhere that guests flat out ignore - to the detriment of the non-smokers. We had to leave an area several times because of rude smokers. I get it, people want to smoke. Being considerate and respectful of other people just isnt hard. The staff could not have cared less and did nothing when we complained. Second, the food was below average for a spa and for the price. Just meh. Third, the beds. Wow. If you like a firm mattress or maybe the feeling of sleeping on a concrete slab, this is the place for you. I was physically in pain both mornings I got up while staying here. The great thing is, theres a beautiful jacuzzi down the hall to whisk away those aches. I would definitely go back here, but I dont think I would stay here as a guest again. A day pass would be fine for me. The facilities live up to the hype, give it a try if youre in the area.

  Perfect!

  We have been in this wonderful hotel for three nights. Everything was perfect: hotel spa and pools, free entrance to the public ones (Heiltherme) until late evening, food, location close to wonderful landscapes and walking paths. But the biggest surprise was to realise how different Styria people are different from the capitals ones. Extremely friendly, polite, helpful with foreigners, in any context, in a word just the opposite of Vienna people attitude. I suggest Vienna municipality and tourism promotion center to take advantage of Steiermark example! A special thank to young but already very professional Clemens for his dedicated service at yesterdays dinner!
