  Fantastic Hotel

  This was supposed to be just a getaway for my wife and I but our kids came last minute due to the change in COVID rules. The swimming pool was stunning and very relaxing. We had dinner the first night at the Lakes restaurant which was superb! The breakfast is decent enough and the service generally was excellent. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer! Definitely would go back.

  Cheeky one night break

  We decided to have a cheeky one night break but close to home. Wed been here a few years ago fir afternoon tea (which was amazing) and always promised wed go back. Flawless service and excellent food in the lakeside restaurant pool area is super cute and relaxing. We were lucky to get a slot and a slightly early check in too. Note sure pool area would be enough post COVID but will definitely be going back once lockdown #2 is over !! Food selection at dinner was incredible. And so happy to see a table with a cloth on it breakfast was perfect, nice selection and again the service team were incredible. Go stay youll love it

  A weekend away at the end of half term

  Due to covid, this was a last minute booking, and we went for a spa weekend,which was not cheap but included extra meals and a late stay on sunday. We rang the hotel before arriving to check accessibilty information, and were told to book the newer section, as it has a lift. A lovely hotel, an hour from home, and the staff were excellent. It also had its downsides, e.g. the dinner tables were not properly social distanced, although we were OK. Just saying, profit before safety. The room we had was an executive suite, and quite nice. The toilet was broken the entire time we were there,as was the key to get into the room an the Sunday afternoon. We were unable to get into the room, and my wife had to run downstairs to get a key whilst I wet myself outside the room. It is things like this you remember. The other issue was the food. The restaurant was quite cheap to eat on the Sunday, about £21? I have not seen the bills. We were entitled to an evening meal and Sunday lunch as part of our package. We also ate here on the Friday evening. The food was avant garde, it was OK. The meal on Saturday night was the same menu, but I did not actually like the start or the main course, and returned these untouched. The free olives were also disgusting. I ate the bread. The hotel was great, and they would not charge these meals to the bill. When we received the bill, the Friday meal was charged in full, the Saturday meal was included in the weekend price. Enough said. I would not want to revisit this place. On a plus side, the pool is beautiful. Kevan Wilding

  Wonderful Anniversary Break

  The whole weekend was great. The food in the restaurant was delicious, the staff were very attentive. It's difficult for people to get used to when you can't simply turn up at the spa/gym at any time you like but the staff at the hotel did their best to ensure that guests were allocated a convenient time to use the facilities there. If you are looking for a nice break at a lovely hotel, then the Hempstead House was perfect.

  Love this place

  Despite COVID 19 restrictions this hotel still offers a great experience. Ive stayed several times over 3 years and have always enjoyed each one. My room was spotlessly clean with really nice bathroom, bed a little soft but still comfortable. Had an excellent dinner and breakfast. Had a good nights sleep. Staff all very professional and friendly.
