Tricky Resort Fee Process - Be Careful
Be careful! This place takes your money quickly and very slow in refunding, even it's their mistake overcharging you. They charge $29.59 per day as the resort fee, which pretty much is the Internet services. Then, they tell us if we attend their sales presentation, some of that fee can be waived. The presentation is 2-hour long, with one representative one on one with us. They tried to sell their programs and bad-mouthing their competitors, such as RCI. We endured 2 hours of that and kept telling them that we won't buy any of their programs. Finally, they gave us a paper to waive 5 days' fee, not the entire 7 days' stay. Upon checking out, it took a long time to process it, and the clerk charged us $147.95 instead of refunding us that amount. It took another 10 minutes for her to correct it. Now, 5 days after we checked out, my credit card online statement shows the original $207.13 and the $147.95. No refund was posted; not even a pending refund was shown. I called this morning; the clerk said she couldn't do anything, and the manager comes in at 2 pm. I asked to speak to the manager when she is in, but it's the clerk called shortly after 2 pm, said she talked to the manager, yadda yadda yadda. After being put on hold, I finally got the manager on the phone. She said their system is slow in the refund, and it will take 3-5 days. I'll give them 2 more days. If no refund comes in, I'll dispute both transactions. This place will never have my business again. With so many places to stay in that area, this is very easy to do.

Hidden fees
As with most of the resorts on RCI it was clean and units were nice. You will spend an extra $175 for your stay on top of the exchange fee for an "activity" fee. Exercise room was closed and except for the pool the other activities then had a fee on top of the daily fee.

Disappointment in quality
As a Diamond Resort owner we have come to expect a comfortable and clean room, but that was not the case at this resort. We requested a first floor room for mobility issues. The only one that was available was a handicap room which was fine. Our children and grandchildren, one of which is crawling, were joining us. The carpet was very stained and dirty so we couldn't let the baby on the floor. Management had the carpet cleaned which kept us out of our room for a full day and the stains returned shortly after completely drying. We have never been so disappointed and disgusted with a room. We have contacted Diamond several times, but they have yet to respond. The amenities are nice, but because of the quality of the room, we would be hesitant to stay there again.

NO SURPRISES
A Resort is called a RESORT because of the amenities available WITH your unit AT NO COST!!! Though this was pawned off on RCI, the Scottsdale Villa Mirage charged us an OUTRAGIOUS CHARGE of $29.59 PER DAY FOR AMENITIES!!! This is BEYOND REDICULOUS!!! They have quite a few amenities available, which is nice for families, but we did not use any of them. They blamed RCI for the extra cost, and RCI listed it as "The Resort MAY CHARGE an activities fee." This should be restated as "The Resort WILL CHARGE AN ACTIVITIES FEE of $29.59 PER DAY!!" Charging clients like this is ABSOLUTELY ABSURD!! RCI member since 1987.

Beautiful site and wonderful staff!
Everyone we have come in contact with here has been warm and welcoming! This resort is gorgeous and well kept. We love the fully stocked kitchen supplies so we can cook what we want to while we are here. The events coordinator that we talked to after checking in gave us so much information including maps, a travel booklet/magazine, and minimal traffic routes for the adventures previously planned. This place is wonderful and we will be recommending it to friends and family when they come out to visit this area as well.
