  Fun for kids between 1-10

  We used to come here for nearly every school break. It was amazing for the kids when they were younger. The water park is great because there is a lot to do and you can still see the kids pretty much anywhere they go. They have a sit down restaurant and a great snack bar attached to the pool that also sells alcohol. The Fun Zone in the basement is a separate charge and that is irritating to me. The arcade is nice because the games are kid-friendly and theyll almost always win something. The boys are now 11 and 13 and though they had fun it wasnt quite the same level of excitement they had a few years ago. I imagine this will be our last visit unless there is a family group going. Again, great experience for younger kids.

  Going Downhill

  Weve stayed here numerous times since it opened. This latest trip was surprisingly bad. Rusty items protruding in the childrens play area. Sharp concrete pieces through the bottom of the hot tub. No towels available, as in, there was a sign saying they ran out of towels. A short walk showed a huge pile of dirty towels in a corner. Cost cutting gone extreme. Oh well, the Dells arent that far away. It was nice while it lasted.

  I'm afraid this is not a good review. - carpet and walls throughout is dingy and scuffed - there is a streak on the bathroom wall behind the door that "appears" to be blood - no pool or hot tub open during the week - no open lunch facility - both restaurants are closed for the lunch hour. I did find some heat & serve edibles for lunch (Chef Boy R D) but gag me. - tiny TVs - pretty much the smallest flat screen you can get - very very over-priced given the above notes. Instead of over $100/night, it should be priced like a Super 8 due to the general scuffiness, no pool/hot tub, and no food at lunch. They do have WIFI and comfortable beds/pillows. I am here Tu/Wed/Th and bummed that we selected this hotel, but stuff happens sometimes.

  Never again

  My family and I made our 3rd trip to this hotel this weekend. A few years ago we loved it. This time around there were too many things that went wrong. 1st, my parents got us gift cards for Christmas so we could take our family here. I wanted to book through Expedia because it was literally HALF the price as the hotel website but they told me that I couldnt pay with my giftcards then. So I booked it through their website double the price. A week later I noticed they charged my credit card. I had to call management to get that reimbursed which went very smoothly. However, when we got there they acted like they had no idea how to do a gift card. (We had about $400 in gift cards) ALSO, this is important. We got there at 3 for check in just like the website AND email said and they told us we couldn't check in until 4! So we left for an hour. Talk about disappointed kids! The stay was okay. Rooms were not very clean feeling. And we were sad to see they no longer have their breakfast buffet. Then upon check out crap hit the fan again with said gift cards. First she charged my credit card AGAIN! Had to undo that and when looking at our receipt realized we were charged $60 more than we were supposed to. When I went back in to get my remaining $60 gift card(which I wasn't too excited about because I knew we'd never be back) she explained to me that I was wrong and just didnt understand the receipt. She also blamed the person who checked me in for the mess up when, she in fact, was the one who checked me in. Finally she figured it out and got it right. But holy buckets what a crap show. We also saw other customers struggling with wrong information too. They really need to train their front desk people better and maybe things could go more smoothly. We are very laid back people and would have let most of this go but the whole gift card debacle and charges and mess ups were too much and instead of leaving happy, I left frustrated amd highly annoyed. This place is very expensive and we felt it is worth the Expedia price not the $275 we paid.

  Good, but limited

  I stay at this Holiday Inn a few times a year on business. Never has it been busy, which means its quiet. Limited service, at least during covid. Breakfast is ok, typical hotel breakfast. On site bar/restaurant has not been open in the last year, understandably. Good bar/restaurant selections in the surrounding area. Big rooms, comfy beds, good pillows...and quiet!
