    Hotel staff are nice and helpful and very friendly and the room we have is nice and clean and bathroom clean as well but only bad side about it not much space where the toilet is next to the bath and the beds are very hard and not comfy for me with having a bad back and hips but other than that everything else is fine

    Quick stop over

    Booked a couple days before and well priced. Located just outside city centre but within a nice walk of the city walks. Allowed us to park up early in the car park and we arranged check in with COVID 19 requirements. Nice family room but could do with some updating. Breakfast was nice and well prepared as pre-ordered night before and catered for my wife whom is gluten free. Enjoyed the stay and appreciate your hosting! Would recommend!

    Excellent stay

    Excellent location - adhered to social distancing rules. Lovely accommodation.. Friendly and informative owners ( Jacqui and Paul) Beautiful terraced: garden area for an amazing breakfast tray. Lovely fresh food and delicious coffee. Will definitely be returning in the future and highly recommend this location. Stayed in the top floor room with fab views over the city and York Minster.

    Stayed here for two nights during our visit to York. The owner has clearly gone to a lot of thought trying to ensure the accommodation is Covid safe, whilst maintaining high standards. Breakfast is brought on a tray and left outside the rooms. This worked because our room was spacious and a table and chairs provided to eat our meal on. The breakfast was good - a hot roll, plus cereal, toast and a croissant. Fruit juice and hot drinks, too. Our room was at the front and inevitably there was noise from the traffic outside ( a fairly busy road ). The WiFi connection in our room was shaky and erratic which was a bit annoying. Otherwise, a comfortable bed and everything clean and tastefully decorated. The location was fine for us - a 15 minute walk into the city centre through a smart area of lovely York. Parking is possible at the back in the private car park. There are some well established restaurants close by as well. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this good value guest house.

    20 minute walk from the centre. Basic room, could do with a little update. No full English. You get a bacon or egg roll, toast & a mini pot of muesli & fruit. Breakfast is left outside your room. The beds were the worst part of our stay. They are rock hard!!!!!
