  nice rooms - poor service

  pros: design and quality of the room, location of the hotel, parking facilities, nice coffee cons: most of staff acted as they were in their very first day in the hotel. very unprofesional, contradictive. we really felt being a guest in the 'Fawlty Towers' series and looked for Mr. John Cleese.. Seriously. majority of staff did not speak English or German, signs and info in Russian instead. half board quality was well under average. but definitely not for 4 stars. buffet breakfast and dinner have not been refilled when run out, in addition, staff startd to clean off the dishes even before official closure of the catering. we felt being forced to eat faster! no wifi in the rooms. jacuzzi/whirpool was out of service. sauna, pool for an extra cca. 10 euros/pp

  Never again

  I chose the hotel after a lot of researching as our mini-honeymoon treat. It came at a great price of 5 500 CZK per night = very pricey but I thought lets treat ourselves. We chose a package - Romantic weekend for two which was supposed to include 2 nights, access to the wellness area, one candle-lit dinner and one buffet style dinner, massage, luxurious fruit basket on arrival and a bottle of sparkling wine. We have paid some extra money for another night. The room itself was nice. There were some construction works outside so not the quietest of all but okay. The air con was good as it was very hot. We were extremely disappointed with the food. You can clearly see that they cater there for either Czech spa visitors (with no expectations), or Russians. There was no such a thing as candle lit dinner - buffet style all the way, not worth a penny. Everything was kind of stale, not much choice and not very tasty. Their "extensive" wine list offered only one kind of wine sold by glass, ridiculous. The stuff wasn't very helpful or efficient with stocking up. We had to ask twice for plates, or milk or something else. Breakfast were even more miserable. They serves dry and stale pancakes, steamed vegetables and jelly domes with a slice of boiled egg and brussels sprouts! The luxurious fruit basket was just 3 old ish apples, 1 peach and 1 orange. The sparkling wine was replaced with cheap white wine. The wellness area was well appointed, apart from the hot tub which was under construction. There was no mention of that at the time of the booking. On top of it all, there was no hot water on Sunday morning! We will certainly not stay again, nor I would recommend this to a friend. What a waste of money!

  Relaxed and rejuvenated

  We stayed at the Ambiente hotel for a week and really liked it. Even though it might not the luxuries one and prices pretty high but we like our stay there and felt like at home. Rooms are spacious and clean. There were hardly any people at the hotel and most of the time we had a spa area all to our self. Jacuzzi didn't work but it did not upset us as we have one at home. Sauna, hammam and other spa facilities ware fantastic and good quality, we really enjoyed it. Staff were very polite and friendly. Might not fluent in English but we were able to speak Russian to them and it was charming for us as we haven't visit Russia for a while. Treatment that doctor prescribe to us were great, always on time, area was clean and staff was very attentive. Special thank you to the red head girl (sorry forgot her name), her smile was always genuine and she was very helpful. Massages we had we conducted by highly professional people. Even Though styles were different but we liked both of them. Our gratefulness goes to Yana, who is a nurse there. She was incredibly helpful when my mum became ill. She accompany us to the clinic and stayed there until we returned back to the hotel and was going out of her way to make sure that mum is recovering. Hotel provided a transportation for clinic visit. We felt that if there any problems you could rely on hotel staff. Food might not be what you use to have in the hotels but we liked it as it was authentic czech food. We always like to experience food of the country you visit. The variety might not be great but everything was fresh and tasty. There might be a few not so tasty dishes but overall we were happy with it. And besides it was good to have a bit of diet food and sugar free food as being in spa and doing treatments for cleansing your body would be silly to eat like a pig. And if food is not enough then restaurants are everywhere with great food and cheap prices really. One thing that was definitely inconvenient is a car parking. Hotel parking is located above steep hill and coming down the hill after you parked the car is bearable but to go up the hill to get the car is a real struggle, particularly when it is hot. If you traveling without a car that it's not an issue. Hotel location is great, right next to the main glass colonnade. It is up the hill a bit but not too bad. Lovely church is right at your window and you can have a little payers and clear your thoughts while having a parafango or perl bath. There is also a lovely terrace where you can have your meal if you wish. We would like to come there again but only if we would be without a car. Perking is really a downturn for this hotel.

  perfect location in the heart of Karlovy Vary.

  Had a lovely three day break in Karlovy Vary staying at the Ambiente Spa Hotel. We managed to book the hotel on a last minute deal at a very good price, the hotel was good, clean and had a lovely spa, which was a big plus as we didn't have to go to one of the day spa's in town. The pools however are not thermal pools.The food it was Ok but nothing special. As it was included in our package we ate there twice. Breakfast was normal. Our room was small but clean. For the price we paid the hotel and facilities were fine!

  Horrible place to stay and attitude

  We paid very high price for this place. This is TWO stars hotel, not four! Dirty, small room, even no water and tea in the room! No proper ventilation system at the hotel. No good food! The choice is very poor, even not enough food before kitchen is closing. Very salty and fat food. Soft drinks for the money! Even we paid for the breakfasts and dinners! Coffee is terribly bad taste! The dishes are broken, even served with the plastic spoons. The medical staff is very rude and unprofessional. The doctor is absent as the director Blanka of the hotel. So you can't get worse place than Ambiente hotel! We paid double price for really bad service! And there is no response, just aggressive behaviour of the staff to ours comments. The house keeper doesn't care to give shampoo, gel shower as it should be done automatically by standards for double rooms. The director doesn't come to the hotel, she comes at 1 o'clock pm on Monday just for 1 hour to work. She promised us to provide all medical treatment procedures as we paid for 18 treatments, but in reality we got15. She never keeps her promisses. The doctor is coming in the evening after his main job in prison just for 1 hour. He writes the medical treatment without taking the blood tests. All medical treatment procedures time are made shorty twice by time as it must be done by standards. We never ever recommend anyone to stay here! Ambiente put four stars by themselves. It is not responding at FOUR Stars Hotels on the international level standards. Very disgusting place! Nobody cares. Just taking your money as much as possible without any shame!!!!
