  Ideal place to stay in Dole

  Hotel de la Cloche is ideal for a stay in Dole and is right in the town centre. I had read reviews about parking being plentiful in front of the hotel, and this equates to a free car park across the road. I have to say however that it was full when we arrived in mid-afternoon and although we got a space within ten minutes when somebody left, the car park remained pretty full all day. It is worth noting that on the road round to the side of the hotel there is meter parking which is free for the first hour, so ideal for checking in. Check in was welcoming and efficient and throughout our stay we found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Our room (109) was a good size, nicely decorated and very comfortable - and the fact that it had air conditioning was a real and necessary bonus. The en-suite bathroom was also a good size and the only small gripe here is that it is impossible to have a shower without soaking the floor because (a) there is no shower curtain and (b) the position of the shower head means that the water runs along the back of the bath and onto the floor. Fortunately we had plenty of towels to soak up the mess. There are two breakfast options here: a small breakfast for 5 Euro or a full breakfast for 13 Euro. We paid for the main breakfast and along with the usual cereals, fruit, yoghurts etc, there was good quality ham, excellent cheese and perfectly cooked creamy scrambled eggs. We enjoyed it.

  Perfectly placed hotel with great service

  We booked this hotel for a 3 day stay in the area and were pleasantly surprised with everything. The hotel is located steps from the beautiful old town centre with its own bar with snacks and a breakfast room with cooked and continental breakfast buffet. We enjoyed our varied breakfast every morning with well cooked scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, big choice of cheeses, hams, bread and fruits as well as cereals. We had a large corner room which was very spacious, even with the extra bed for our daughter we had plenty of space to walk around and use the sitting area. The bed was very comfortable with a mattress topper and was an oversized double bed. The bathroom was large and there was a large entrance hall to the room to allow cases to be stored without cluttering the room. The bathroom is very modern and everything in the hotel was extremely clean, staff were all helpful and friendly. We don´t hestiate to recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the area, thanks for a great stay. We found free parking on the street or in the car park next to the park over the road from the hotel.

  Charged For A Cancelled Room despite being assured by reception that it was cancelled.

  We arrived after a very long drive in horrendous rain to Hotel de la Cloche to be told that our booking was for the wrong night. They had one room at a much higher rate than the booked room. We took the room and was assured by the receptionist that the reservation they had in the future for us would be cancelled. It wasn't and I woke up to a charge on my card. I tried to speak to someone only to be told that it's the booking company policy. Funny the booking company's policy says different. As for the hotel itself, nice enough just don't expect to have a drink in the bar after 9pm. ITS SHUT.

  Good Location

  If you stay take a room on one of the main floors as the rooms under the roof are not easy to get to, and the bathroom was smaller than the average airliner toilet !! prices are reasonable staff are friendly and helpful. beds are hard .

  Great hotel in an ideal location

  This hotel ideally placed to see all of the attractions in Dole. Well worth paying for the Superior room as it was large, modern & very comfortable. The hotel staff made us feel very welcome in these covid times. Dole itself is a really beautiful town with lots of good shops, bars & restaurants. Parking at the hotel was across the road in a park but was free & safe. If we are ever back in Dole we would definitely stay here again.
