  Top marks for effort despite misunderstandings

  This hotel is very conveniently located (right next to the station) and has everything you might need for a simple but comfortable stay: rooms with bathrooms, cupboards, breakfast provided and a café with drinks and simple meals available. We were a large group staying here to celebrate three birthdays. Marco was very friendly and warm - and seemed to take very personally whether we liked the rooms, the meal, the staff's attentions etc. Marco and his colleagues were helpful and went out of their way to organize a fabulous raclette for us. However they also forgot some key points, like that we had asked for (and they had said we would have) birthday cake(s), the absence of which caused some disappointment. Also we were not notified of check-out time until about 30 minutes before (at 10) which caused some tension.

  Amazing Service!!!

  The property owner was so amazing to my friend and I. We had a late check in due some car troubles and the owner waited up for us! He was super helpful and gave us a lot of useful information! Also the place was clean and the bed was so comfortable! Highly recommend!

  Less expensive than in Zermatt and INCREDIBLE service

  It was a bit dark and rainy when our family pulled into Randa. But immediately the owner and host of the hotel, Marco, made up for that. He was so kind and offered us the choice of various rooms, made us dinner even though the kitchen was closed, and gave us so much wonderful advice about when to what to do and when around Randa and Zermatt. The hotel is RIGHT next to the train station, but it was not noisy. The rooms are basic but big and comfortable. Marco truly is the best host we've ever encountered on all of our many world travels.

  A warm welcome

  We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Klein Matterhorn - our host went above and beyond to accommodate us and helped us with onward transport to Zermatt. Room was clean and had all the amenities. Highly recommended for couples or families looking to explore the area.

  One of our top experiences

  I had booked this hotel seven months before our arrival for six of us trekking. First impressions were not good. The owner didn't have our reservations or open rooms for three couples. Despite the initial consternation, he assured us he would "manage this and take care of us" I had brought a copy of the reservation and he went to work sorting things out, He gave us three of his "better" rooms bending over backwards to make sure we were happy with everything. And I mean everything! Free drinks, clothes line to hang our washed clothing, birthday celebration for one of our group, and surprise...he morphed into our entertainment for the evening becoming a one man band, playing keyboards, synthesizers, trumpet for our and the rest of the guest's dinner. He took requests and changed well known tunes to fit our names and situations. And yes Marco was surprisingly GOOD! Our entire stay he and his staff were super attentive and helpful with storing our packs the next day while we did a day outing, arranging taxi etc The hotel itself was very comfortable at a good price for the Zermatt region. The meals were very good and well served. The initial bad taste quickly turned into a trip highlight, much of it due to Marco and his personality and attention to detail. I highly recommend he, his staff and the Hotel Klein Matterhorn!
