  Avoid at all costs!

  Hotel at busy cross roads of which our room first floor room had a good view. The noise was awful, trucks, motor bikes, screeching tyres. We had to close all the windows and swelter all night despite the fan going flat out - this was early September, so goodness knows what it would be like in July! Room was clean but tired and dated. We had chosen the hotel as a stop off near Pau because it was well rated in the Logis de France guide, but the restaurant was very poor - indifferent UK pub grub at best - and the almost total lack of other diners should have been a warning. The dining room was tired, and almost every one of the dozen chandeliers had at least one bulb blown, the whole place felt as if no one had any interest anymore. Looking at the other reviews, and the Logis rating, something major has happened, as apart from the traffic noise, we don't recognise the place! We have travelled extensively in France, but this was truly one of the least enjoyable hotel experiences.

  Perfect for a stop over

  A comfortable and clean hotel with spacious rooms at very affordable prices. The hotel is easy to find in an ideal position to explore the area. Plenty of car parking and rooms have air conditioning. Very friendly and helpful staff and there is also an excellent restaurant makes the place perfect a long or short stop over.

  Awful - nothing positive to report

  This hotel is tired, neglected and definitely the worst one we have stayed at in all our years travelling in France. There was no soap or shower gel, only one small towel, the "balcony was dirty with dirty ash tray. The noise from the traffic all night was horrendous. The restaurant had only 2 other couples in it and no wonder. The food was very poor and cheese was served without any cutlery.

  Good lunch

  Stopped by for their plat du Jour lunch, and we had a very good meal. Everything was nicely cooked and presented, good value and with good service. Okay the place is a bit 'worn', but that's typical of rural French establishments. An enjoyable lunchtime.

  Terrible

  We have used Logis de France hotels over the past 40 years and from past experience we were assured by the description of the hotel especially the restaurant. A hotel with three cocking pots has never disappointed us. Unfortunately on this occasion we were lost for words The entire hotel had a nasty smell resembling raw sewage The greatest problem was the restaurant as what was on offer was ten times worse than what is on offer from some of the poorest motorway services On offer was a salad consisting of cabbage two slices of tomato drenched in balsamic vinegar or shop bought pate The main course was sausage and chips or fish with rice To say we were discussed is an under statement This hotel in our opinion is an embarrassment to the Logis name and should either improve or removed from the list
