  Vista al mar increible

  Si bien el Hotel no es barato para las comodidades que ofrecen, la vista desde el balcón del cuarto que me tocó es alucinante. De todas formas, si no consiguen una habitación al mar, pueden ir a la terraza del hotel, disponible para todos los huéspedes, generalmente vacía y muy amplia, que tiene vista 180 grados a la costa. Tengan en cuenta que no hay ascensor y nosotros tuvimos que subir 4 pisos por escalera con las valijas, asique piensen antes de cargarse con bolsos inutiles.

  Un 3 estrellas con mayusculas! Muy buena la atención y superlativa la vista. Para recomendar y volver. El desayuno abundante y surtido de todo tipi de exigencias para la prima colazione. Si bien no está en el centro se llega muy facilmente con el transporte publico. Un 3 estrellas superior que te hace sentir que lo que pagas está bien pagado.

  We have conflicting thoughts on writing this review. One the one hand we want to keep this marvelous gem of a place to our selves, so we can come and go when ever we like, not worrying whether it will be overbooked or not. This is purely selfish of course. One the other hand we would like to give our warmest recommendation of this hotel so others can experience this truly amazing place and so that the wonderful staff can have a chance to treat other guests with the same warm and heartfelt hospitality, compassion and service that they gave to us. We wanted to find a slow, easygoing and tranquil part of Ponza. We had heard great things about the island. We were looking for a small and simple charming place with a balcony with a sea view. And we where truly amazed and happy when we arrived at Hotel Ortensia and realized wed found the place we had been dreaming about. The location suited our needs perfectly. Away from the hustle and bustle of the harbor, close to small fruit and vegetable shops, a short walk from the beautiful piscine naturali and other nearby beaches. Even a good location if you want to go for a run to the northernmost part of the isle and back. The local bus stops a minutes walk from the hotel so it was easy to get to the center and back. It had all the amenities we expected of a 3 star hotel. Simple clean rooms, good house keeping etc. Our room was painted in orange pastel (maybe the ceiling could need a brush of white paint, we couldnt care less - just saying so this doesnt become ridiculously too positive, but its hard, Im telling you) and we didnt miss anything. Jaw dropping sunset view from our balcony. But what we didnt expect was the 5 star service. They helped us with dinner reservations, gave us advice on where to go what to see and where to eat. Got us tickets for a boat excursion. Always with a smile. Luce and Luica speaks perfect English and will treat to like family. They all will. Staff from the breakfast even delivered us coffee in our room one morning even though breakfast service was over. And the list goes on. A day before we were leaving and bad weather hit the island and visitors on the island got in a frenzy over getting tickets for the only ferry that was leaving the next day, some of the staff that happened to be in the harbor at the time, even bought tickets for us so we would get on the ferry to make or flight back home. Simply outstanding. Such a nice gesture and were very grateful. We left with a heavy heart, because we had such a good time at Ortensia, but feel like coming back. Maybe this text seems almost too overwhelming, but an overwhelming stay deserves an overwhelming review. You have our warmest recommendations for Hotel Ortensia and their loving staff. Thank you.   Excellent

  I feel as the last reviewer did. Keep this place to myself so I can return with my husband and experience the same tranquillity , great service and a perfect distance from the town centre . Our room was small , clean and serviced daily. The young lady overseeing the breakfast excelled so did the view and her cappuccino was the best ever (I normally don't drink cappuccino). Great having the bus stop so close , getting around was so easy. To the two very special ladies at the front desk , thankyou for all your help you made our stay so special .

  Great location and hospitality

  Ortensia is located 10 min by taxi from the main town, but in a beautiful part of the island. The natural pools are just down the hill, it's a 10 min climb. The staff is really helpful and welcoming and made our stay a lot easier by guiding us to tours and helping with transfers. The restaurant has great food and is really picturesque with a great view of the sunset. The breakfast quality is acceptable for Italy, but still to many pastries and not enough healthy options. In addition you had to have breakfast early in order to have the full service. The morning cappuccino was however great and is actually enough to make my day. The rooms are quite small and the beds are uncomfortable in line with what seems to be Italian tradition. A room with at sunset view is preferable.It should be pointed out that the rooms are all somewhat different in style, ours had a tiny bathroom. If we return to Ponza, we would definitely stay at Ortensia again.
