  Austrian family owned hotel with very professional and personable owners and staff

  I stayed three nights at the Hotel Post in Illmitz and was very happy with it, I will come back to the Hotel Post when in the area. The style of my room was modern and functionable, a lift was available, too. The view into the courtyard with big old trees was airy and pleasant, very good coffee at breakfast- and in any case: All food and drink I consumed during my stay was fresh, pleasant and commendable. In true fashion of Austrian hospitality one felt welcome and well taken care off at all times. On the last evening I wasn t feeling well and Péter, the waiter, went out of his way to get me aspirins out of his own supply. Thank you, Péter!

  Friendly place, well recommended

  I had a great stay here (3 nights). Despite my lack of German, all the staff were really friendly and went out of their way to help me, especially the manager who gave me lots of helpful information, including menu translation. The room was comfortable, the breakfast good, the dinners very tasty. The hotel is in a great location in Illmitz, which is itself in a good location for exploring the Neusiedl national park. I didn't rent one, but the hotel rents e-bikes for residents at reasonable rates.The hotel is well set up for birders, with helpful info provided. I would definitely stay here again. Good hospitality.

  Very helpful and friendly owner.

  We only stayed one night at the Hotel Post, but it was very pleasant. The owner, who speaks English beautifully, was very helpful in our plans for birding excursions in the nearby national Park. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We appreciated the air conditioning as the weather had turned quite hot. The buffet breakfast was quite good, but the star of our stay was a delicious grilled local carp cooked to perfection by the hotels talented cook. We also enjoyed meeting the newly arrived Portuguese Water Dog puppy who is incredibly cute.

  Very good hotel

  We stayed at this hotel with my family in summer '20. A nice and friendly owner, hood location, cozy rooms and excellent breakfast service. You can also buy some local wines at the reception. I recommend Kracher dessert wine.

  Good location for a visit, but could use a brushup

  It is an ok hotel in the middel of Illmitz, which is in walking distance to all restaurants etc. in town. Easily accessible and directly on the main street. However, it is a bit worn out and could use a freshup. Both in the reception, restaurant and in the rooms. Breakfast was also okay'ish, but not better than average.
