    MM-La Coruña. Es nuestro primer viaje a la Selva Negra.Una experiencia inolvidable. El hotel excelente.Todo lo que diga es poco. El personal amabilisimo y de gran profesionalidad; desde el momento de la reserva todo perfecto.La reserva de restaurantes; nos reservaron un coche de alquiler y nos enviaron un taxi a recogernos al aeropuerto; sin el menor problema. Las instalaciones del hotel excelentes; las piscinas; el Vital Resort y los restaurantes: Schardwaldstube; Kohlerstube y Bauernstubre. Tambien excelentes los desayunos. El propietario Herr Finkbeiner encantador. Sinceramente unas vacaciones inolvidables. Espero regresar pronto. Nuestra entancia fue entre el dos y el siete de Mayo. En una palabra: inolvidable.

    Simplemente un hotel encantadoren un entorno mágico

    Estuvimos cinco noches a mediados de Agosto de 2008. El hotel, sus empleados, y sus instalaciones son magníficas. Desde los desayunos deliciosos, nuestra estancia se distribuía regularmente: deporte en sus instalaciones, rutas por senderos mágicos de la selva negra, comida o cena en alguno de sus restaurantes (nos encantanba el pequeño restaurante tras la barra del bar donde disfrutábamos de unos deliciosos martinis muy secos), y una habitación con la vista más prodigiosa al valle. Altamente recomendable.

    Mejor ligar para relajarte en MEDIO de la selva negra. Alemania la piscina spa las vistas vegetación la naturaleza aire totalmente limpio y puro una vistas de película... La comida un todo incluido fenomenal... y si tienes la oportunidad de comer en el restaurante 3 Michelín lo de comiendo un 100 es lo mejor que comido de tantos michelines que he ido. Este no tiene competencia alguna 1000% Recomendado super lecker

    Not an ideal location and layout but otherwise great

    We didnt really like the hotels location and layout. Not really near the village center and in the middle of a clearing, so it could get really hot walking midday before you reach the forest cover. We stayed in the Kohlwald house which is across the street (a surprisingly busy street!) from the main building. So we and other guests had to cross it in our robes going to the pool area. The main building itself was like a maze. Having said that, everything else was great especially the food and the service. Shout out to the staff who waited for us during dinner on 30 July and who unfortunately had to leave before dinner service was done because his shift was up. You were awesome! And of course to our countryman in the staff during breakfast (Allan) you were great too!

    We have 5 stars, but not everywhere

    We anticipated vacation in this hotel very much, because there were lots of positive reviews in all sources about old famous hotel, which was established in year 1789 and still working. We knew, that this is a 5 star hotel, which costs quite a lot and we expected a good quality of everything, but we were wrong. We were living in old part of the hotel, which from outside looks quite nice and authentic. Person on the reception was very helpful, but dropped on us lots of information about their 4 restaurants with their systems and reservation and working times, which was quite confusing for first 10 minutes. We dropped our car keys on the reception and our luggage arrived in our room automatically. That was nice. But as soon as we arrived into our room we understood, that there is no air condition device in our room. On our request to get a room with air condition we got an answer: "you need to pay 150 euro per night in addition for living in premium section". And air condition is significant, because with closed windows it is just very hot to sleep, but with open windows it is so very cold (September 2020). Feels like there is no ventilation system in old building at all. Soon after arriving we also noticed, that toilet was not cleaned properly cleaned after previous visitors, which all together made an awful first impression. After we starting sneezing in our room, we also understood, that there is a lot of dust in the room, although there is twice a day room cleaning in this hotel. And we also have had problems with room service: as doorbell for our room was broken (which is also quite a nonsense), cleaning person have just entered our room, which is unacceptable, and solution for this is just to hang "do not disturb" sign for all time. The feeling of the room's interior is that, like it was built really in 1789: old furniture, old carpet and everything looks used. Ok, the view from the balcony is astonishing: green hills with very nice forrest panorama, but this is a feature of location, not of the hotel, for what hotel is responsible, it is definitely not 5 stars experience. The funny thing is that the bed in our room placed under angle so that you can see view after waking up, but this configuration consumes so much space from the room, that it feels like tiny cave. And as we were sleeping with opened windows (remember, that there is no air condition?) we can smell other people smoking on their balconies. And the bed was really hard. Why should I request additional soft mattress? Why not to make good bed in the first place? There are 4 restaurant in this hotel, we just tested cheapest one Silberberg. Dinner for 2 persons costs 88 euro and I cannot say, that it is worth it: it was 5 dishes including desert and not including drinks. The taste was ok, but still, not sure if it worth it. What is really good in this hotel, that are swimming pools: you can use inside pool, outside pool, small, big, there is a lot of space near outside pool, there are lots of loungers and umbrellas and also such a nice view and you can order food and drinks there. And the water in all hotel is amazing. Never felt so clean after taking a shower with such a soft kind of water. I should admit, that there are a lot of option for SPA, but they costs a bunch a money. We also ordered parking lot inside the garage for 15 euros per night, which was quite good decision, because there is not so much space for parking outside of the hotel. Verdict. We payed 1492 euro for 2 persons for 4 nights and this price is absolute nonsense for lack of air condition and small dusty room number with old furniture and hard bed. And I think air condition is a "must have" for hotels in 2020, especially for 5 stars ones. High prices for food also does not help to build a good impression. For this amount of money I can describe the stay in this hotel as ugly experience with good swimming and nice view. This hotel is totally overrated. I do not know how they received 5 stars rating, probably 40 years ago it was valid, but definitely not in 2020. If this hotel remove 3 stars from its rating and divide price tag by 3, then it will make a good impression. Until then my rating for it only 2 out of 5 points.
